1. This was an ugly game, and you just want to come out on the winning end of these kinds of games. We did that. There's no sense in speculating what the CFP Committee will do on Tuesday. Tuesday will come soon enough, and we will know for sure.

2. As ugly as it was, there were some highlights: I believe they said that Fuller went over 1,000 yards for the second season in a row. And Prosise is over 1,000 yards rushing. So that's good.

3. This BC defense was #1 defense against the run; #5 against the pass; #1 in total defense, and #3 is scoring. ND put up almost 450 yards and almost 20 points. And they did this despite Will Fuller not having an official touch until, what, the 3rd Quarter?

4. Just about everyone said, before the season, that they would be happy with a 10 win season, this year. And that was BEFORE Zaire and Folston were lost for the season. There's no guarantee of making the playoffs, but even if they don't, this team has had a great season.

5. It looked to me, in the first half, like most of the turnovers were the result of players trying too hard to make that extra yard or two, or to make a play on each and every snap. Sometimes you just have to play within yourself, and let the game play out naturally.

6. I'm a little concerned about Kelly's post game interview on the field where he was asked about KVR and Prosise, heading into next week at Stanford. He responded, "Well, we'll just get the next guys ready to play...." So it doesn't sound good on the injury front

On a very sloppy night, my game ball is going to Justin Yoon, who has solidified the kicking game. I'm very happy with the performance of the freshman this year.

Was a frustrating game, but score in the redzone and this game is a laugher in the 1st quarter.

Good post. I know all the doom and gloom will come out because the scoreboard said 19-16. However, I saw how explosive our offense is. BC has the best d in the country and we moved the ball very, very well. We had a lot of drops and turnovers today, but this is an explosive team. If we play clean, we should beat Stanford.

1) Doesn't feel like we won at all.

2) Hate to say it but OU will most likely jump ND in the rankings.

Should have won by 30, but we played like idiots. And it'll probably cost us.

I don't feel like getting any more in-depth than that.

I've given up trying to predict what we have for a team. Been up and down all year. I've reached the just win point. Win out and let the committee decide if we get in great if not we complain and bitch and say it's because of the ND haters.
For me it's a win win.

Game should have been a four score game. Lack of focus and killer instinct are a concern. I don't really see how we beat Stanford on the road next week. This was two straight weeks of regression.

It was ugly. The bright side is we moved the ball up and down the field on the #1 D, the down side is we are the type of team that shots itself in the foot. 10-1! Fun year for me. On to Stanford.

Farley had a great game all over the place tonight.

Good to see Chris Brown have great night as well.

Amir was even rolling tonight he was getting good mismatches.

Kizer was in a dazed mind set again this week.

Yoon has cleaned up his kicks after the first 2or 3 weeks.

We got double digit wins.

Other then that not much to gloat about. The field set up was terrible. Even watching on TV if didn't seem right all you saw was the green monster.

Also, wish they'd do a better job at scheduling the shamrock series game in the future. Not a fan of ND having to travel while the other takes a 3 mile bus ride.

1. That was a shameful performance. The team showed that they were capable of torching the top D in the country (almost 500 yards of offense, 7 red zone trips) but the drops and turnovers come from not being focused. It comes from having your mind somewhere else. Everyone pretty much played like ass except 1. Farley 2. Brown 3. Carlisle

2. Those injuries to Prosise and KVR are killer. Doubt either play next week, I'm just hopeful they can get ready for bowl game.

3. Kizer just... ugh. Three turnovers that were all breaking QB golden rules.

4. To have 5 turnovers and escape is great. But to be in position to have the score line be 26-9 and instead drop an easy TD and then give up a big TD drive to an awful BC team might really hurt our perception. Just disappointed.

Other things aside, Yoon is money. I'm looking forward to 3 more years of him. For a true Frosh, he is earning his #1 ranking.

With so much on the line and us playing for a playoff spot, it is disappointing we would look so lethargic the last two weeks. I could understand if we were 6-2 but ranked 4th should provide some motivation knowing how TCU got jumped last year after winning 55-3.

This. An ND home game in Boston against BC is stupid. What's next?....How about we play USC in the parking lot of the coliseum and call it a home game?

My Observations:

1. Solid game from Chris Brown. Over 100yd and made some clutch grabs. His TD grab should have been another red zone pick.

2. Also a solid game from Amir Carlisle. I'm not sure he had 6 catches all season and had 6 or 7 tonight.

3. Kizer played like a freshman tonight. Throws were behind or late to receivers and seemed to be missing reads. No idea what he was thinking on the first pick.

4. Off night for Fuller. Too many drops.

5. I thought the defense played a decent game however gave up the home run ball that kept the game close.

My game ball goes to Newsome. Pinning a weak offense deep on most of his punts kept them from gaining any momentum. Had he shanked one or two, it could have been a different game.

Well, a win is a win. Still feels like win and we're in against stanford. The committee has a boner for us and with OK State losing, I dont see things changing. Just hope we can pull it out against Stanford and heal up.

Seems we are unbeaten in the Shamrock series, so i won't complain.

Any team, anytime, anywhere. I LOVE IT

The only thing that gives me hope is the fact OSU looked like garbage numerous time and stayed in the top four. At least we can hang our hat on the fact we played the #1 defense.

uuuuuggggllllllyyyyy. oh well. ND won. I still think well be ranked 3 maybe 4. Tosu, florida barely getting by florida atlantic and okla state losing will take the focus off of us. The committee loves us. If we beat Stanford, we are in. Go Irish

A win is a win but ND just showed that they are not a top 4 team. With speculation, Prosise is done until the bowl game. Kizer looked off his rocker tonight which will not fathom well with the committee. IMO the only way ND makes it to the playoffs now is a 40-point blow out win over Stanford which isn't possible. Heres to hoping Kelly can bring back most of the seniors that are still eligible and make a run at the playoff next year. Toss in the hats for 15'

I'll take the win and the 10 win season (officially 2 wins better than my preseason prediction) but Jesus Christ, this game had every frustrating ND thing ever wrapped up in one big irritating package:

* Dumb mental errors (5 turnovers, two other fumbles we recovered, dropped passes, etc.)

* Huge chunk play TD wherein the offensive player was never touched

* Every other first down run getting blown up for a 3-4 yard loss

* Injuries to key personnel

* Extremely poor red zone production

* Bad prevent defense late in the game making the score look closer than it was and giving the poor ND fanbase a near heart attack

On the flip side, you had career games for Carlisle and Brown, Farley made plays, Yoon has now hit 9 in a row, etc. etc.

I agree. I'll take the win tonight. 450 yards with 5 TOs against statistically the best defense in the country. We are fine and will beat Stanford next week by a TD or 2. I called the citadel upset and won $300 tonight ;) so take my word for it. GO IRISH
