Never mind that inflation, supply chains, and oil prices are a global issue and that you can only keep interest rates at near zero for so long... If you are voting because of inflation then I cant help you.

Uh, if memory serves, they fought a war and actually won?We also need to tear down the Washington and Jefferson monuments.
I was told that the Inflation Reduction Act would reduce the inflation spiked by the American Rescue Plan, 1.5T of executive orders, and 1.2T in infrastructure. It wasn't transitory after all.
What's #1 here from the left-wing cable news?
"all the way down here" refers to which issue? Go ahead. Tell me...

They weren’t traitors either.Uh, if memory serves, they fought a war and actually won?
Yes, but they owned slaves at that time and they must be held to account!!!! I propose that they be stricken from the history books. They weren’t traitors either.
Ive been told by many people all throughout my life that the Civil War wasnt about slavery especially by all the southern people Im constantly surrounded by so it cant be that. Most likely its just because they were traitors.Yes, but they owned slaves at that time and they must be held to account!!!! I propose that they be stricken from the history books.
I think I’m doing this right. Maybe one of the Libs can confirm.
Nobody wants anything stricken from the history books. The books should be accurate but taught within context. The Founders who owned slaves weren't around a few years ago. You can't put then into the context of now. Common sense would say that and also acknowledge what was truth. So don't stricekn anyone or anything from the history books by any stretch.Yes, but they owned slaves at that time and they must be held to account!!!! Nice try, but you know good and well that tearing down statues and removing names is about slavery and not being a traitor.Traitors can get fucked
Fine, they were traitors.Ive been told by many people all throughout my life that the Civil War wasnt about slavery especially by all the southern people Im constantly surrounded by so it cant be that. Most likely its just because they were traitors.
Abortion will be a factor, but I'm not sure how much. It's the silent ones that that are going to determine what happens. By that I mean the women that are married. Married women with families are probably more concerned about the price of groceries, gas, child care, crime, etc. than abortion so they're more likely to vote for someone pushing to take care of inflation and crime. Those will be swamped by the 18-25 Gen Z new voter registering 4-1 as Dem and the women vote gender gap this midterm. You on multiple times have dissmissed the abortion issue as a catalyzing force this election. Thats fine. I dont think Dems will hold the House (due to extreme gerrymandering) but they are very much favored to get a filibuster breaking number of seats in the Senate.
Throwing this one out about LincolnFine, they were traitors.
That has nothing to do with why bases are being renamed, statues are toppling etc etc. It's about slavery. It doesn't stop with the confederacy though. That's why we have students at the University of Virginia demanding that the school rename buildings on campus with Jefferson's name, you know the University that he founded. We have had Elementary schools dropping the Jefferson name because he owned slaves.
Lincoln didn't believe that blacks should have the same rights as whites. So even though he helped abolish slavery, some want to cancel him as well.
There are many on the left that want to hold historical figures to account based on the standards of today. To me, that's crazy. I'm fine with changing the names of buildings etc away from Confederate "heroes". But many Libs aren't satisfied with that. Where does it stop?
Should Jefferson be canceled?
Washington?
Lincoln?
Curious how you personally feel about the issue concerning Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln.
My personal feelings are not in line with how you are presenting the “left” position. I quite agree with Joggafinni approach. No history is off limits as long as it’s true and as acurate as possible and presented as fairly and unbiased as possible. Not always easy.Fine, they were traitors.

They're dead and not really able to help us with the issues we face now. They all won wars, too.Curious how you personally feel about the issue concerning Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln.
None of it should be stricken. That's how we learn and grow. AB2 has a good point. We want to hold the past against today's standards which is stupid and shows how narrow minded people can be.Nobody wants anything stricken from the history books. Don't ban or burn them either though.
Looks like nobody is really noticing inflation anyways...![]()
Midterm voters key in on crime
Crime and public safety are proving to be a potent mix of issues in the midterm election.www.politico.com
From my research abortion is a top two topic. #1 for women less than 50 but we will see.
Totally agree.None of it should be stricken. That's how we learn and grow. AB2 has a good point. We want to hold the past against today's standards which is stupid and shows how narrow minded people can be.
Married women with daughters can compartmentalize a lot of different issues.Abortion will be a factor, but I'm not sure how much. It's the silent ones that that are going to determine what happens. So winning a war justifies slavery?Uh, if memory serves, they fought a war and actually won?
Nice try, but you know good and well that tearing down statues and removing names is about slavery and not being a traitor.
I prefer my statues be built for winners. Who weren't captured. So winning a war justifies slavery?
I was being sarcastic. People want to be selective on this subject and my point was if we're doing all of this because of slavery, then let's be fair and go all the way.
Haha. The “useful idiot” strategy being deployed by the GOP is something to see I gotta say. It’s all fine and good until said idiots realize they now possess real power. A member of the house is one thing, but the Senate? Lordy.Triggering libtards for the win! But it really doesn't matter because in the end both parties are so polarized it will be a yes or no vote as needed in any event.
Trust me, they're aiming for that.We also need to tear down the Washington and Jefferson monuments.

My family is primarily from Kentucky and Alabama and I have lived all but 9 of my years in SC. My grandparents had copies of the Confederate chatecism lying around the house. No joke. My grandmother made me read it the Lost Cause myth was as true as anything else. My school history teachers did not call it the Civil War. It was the War of Northern Agression. Always. It was never over slavery but states rights. That was what I was taught. How I was raised.
Indoctrination was the reality. Never saw anything else until college. Different story was presented and it turned out to be my most favorite period in history and I learned a great deal about the war, the causes of the war. I read all of the confederate states declarations of wars and constitutions and saw that the primary cause was slavery in their own words. These people fought to make sure they could keep slaves and do what they wanted with them how they wanted. They weren’t heroes. They were traitors and willing to be so to secure their economic engine of slaves. There is no reason to celebrate these people.
We should absolutely learn about them and some are likely to have sympathetic ploghtsbfor that time. Absolutely. On a whole the Confederacy was a rebellion and was put down. There is zero reason to celebrate that.
This being said I don’t think you honestly put these traitors in the same light historically or morally as our Founding fathers. Slavery wa morally wrong and they all knew it. They wrote about it. They knew it was an issue likely to tear the country apart but had to make political concessions in order to form the country. They did not fight a war to preserve it. It was separated by nearly 100years and the economies diverged. Most of the north had begun abolition as early as the late 1790s so it’s not like it wasn’t frowned upon but would take time to end.
Anyway I’m sure there will be some that won’t stop at the confederacy. I for one am glad they are doing that but I wouldn’t support anything like what you say it would lead to.
