I think Biden put up one hell of a fight. The Dems made up ground tonight. I thought Ryan looked really bad on key issues.

I don't think anyone is really winning right now. But the Dems are more prepared tonight.

I would say this...by the criteria of the first debate (looks competent, aggressive, confident), Biden seems to be slamming Ryan's face into the table tonight.

This debate is a clusterfuuck.

I don't really care for foreign policy segments. The President will have the upper hand 99% of the time here. Besides, foreign policy rarely does a 180-degree turn. It's just time that could be better spent on better issues, in my opinion.

That said I have always regarded Joe Biden's foreign policy opinion highly. He showed that again, more or less, which is what I expected.

Still, the guy looked like a douchebag with the constant interrupting. That probably didn't help with the independents. The uber-fake "sincere voice" for the last 1/4 of the debate out of Biden didn't help. In my opinion.

I saw from Ryan what I expected. I was never a fan of the pick, and stated so on here I believe. I thought Ryan did fairly well on the economic stuff, but got stomped on the foreign policy issues. I just don't understand, for example, when Biden says "We are leaving in 2014 regardless," you don't simply say "We are perfectly okay with leaving in 2014 if the job is done but if the job needs a little bit more time, a half-year or so, then we'll do it." I don't see how that's not so simple.

Biden did a solid job of creating an issue when he suggested that Romney/Ryan wanted to put boots on the ground in Syria.

Overall, I thought the questions were PATHETIC. This chick made Jim Lehrer look like a champ in my opinion. Abortion questions? GTFOOWTS.

It's weird that so many people who were here after the first debate aren't here tonight.

I didn't peg the first debate correctly (I thought it might be a minor bounce for Romney, but not like what happened), but I was here chatting.

EDIT: There's Buster. Spoke too soon.

I don't think I was here for the first debate either... I was doing some heavy drinking for The National concert. If I was here...I don't really remember haha

I was born in delaware and i live 5min from delaware in 3 different direction. The only county in delaware that would vote for him is New Castle county which is the most weathiest county in the state. He didn't care for the the lower county farmers or small business owners.

The problem is he literally verbally abused him, and that may not help likability or with independents and women.

I disagree. Biden looked more experienced and prepared. He demolished Ryan on the facts, and I think women are more likely to be swayed after that abortion spiel. Independents will see that Ryan dodged the facts and specifics on more than a few occasions. Ryan looked soft and unable to respond when he got called out on the facts.

Romney...one week ago.

Right. That's exactly what he was doing. All the pundits harping on body language and likability n all that crap has driven me crazy for years. Cue inane conversations on undicided voters.

Not even close.

I don't agree. Romney argued for the last word several times last week. People viewed it as being strong.

It's funny...liberals speculated the same thing that you mentioned about women being turned off to the douchbaggery (how's that for a word?)/

I simply think Biden was disrespectful. That historically doesn't play well with women or independents. The election is all about likability. Kerry kicked Bush's *** in their first debate and it didn't help because Bush looked nicer.

It looked like I was debating.

I really think it depends on who you prefer. I thought Romney looked disrespectful last week. I guess we'll find out what independents think.

I did think that Ryan looked like a total fraud on the stimulus. That was a brilliant Biden moment.

Rule of thumb: if the Republicans say they won, and the Democrats say they won, then it's probably a tie.

What's your N? 2? Everyone advocates for their candidate after a debate.

It's a VP debate, so maybe it won't cause a swing. But, Biden throttled the kid tonight.

Disrespectful one week, energetic the next, I say just cut your losses and wait till the next debate.

And on the women Id say neither does banning abortion, so Dems have alot more breathing room with women to pick up some momentum

If being pro-abortion is your thing, you were a Democrat from the get-go. You're not going to suddenly jump on board because Joe Biden bucks the Catholic church to talk about voting for it.
