Hate for this to happen to anybody. My mom died from cancer of the pancreas and liver. She went quickly. That was in '71. Not sure what advances have been made since then, but I have to believe they are pretty great. At 74 stepping down to devote all of her time to recovery instead of being absent occasionally might be best.

That sucks. Pancreatic may be the worst tumor type to have cancer. Lots of patients aren’t eligible for the surgery based on location of the tumor (tail vs head). Even then, surgery guarantees nothing. Treatments are a BITCH. Folfirinox is SOC but typically gets modified for tolerability. Gem-abraxane is no walk in the park after that. There’s long shot hope w/ targeted therapies for those w/ BRCAm & HER2+ but the incidence is really low. Hopefully, she can tolerate treatments while maintaining a good QOL. I can’t imagine her doctors supporting her continuing to work.

He took over when it was 200% lmao. It's only increased since he's been in office. When he dismantles the central bank and only leaves fiscal policy to deal with inflation it's going to be wild. The swing to a deflationary death spiral is going to be something else.

Their inflation rate has improved significantly. It's just not at goal yet. Argentina got so bad that economists from Milei to Krugman would prescribe the same medicine. The question is how far Milei actually goes with this and if he has the political ability to get the budget balanced and a stable enough financial situation for the economy to develop.

Currently they've shown progress in that the banking system is able to set up mortgages for the first time in forever (used to be briefcase of USD)

Argentines Flock to Banks as Milei Awakens Mortgage Market Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

A mortgage boom plus deregulation is a powder keg of bad. Especially with the unemployment rate being at a 3 year low.

Going to be a nice case study in finance classes in a decade on how PE moved into Argentina when deregulation hit and bought up large swaths of real estate. Could see a nice MBS spinout by the PE firms.

Normal banks offer mortgages. They could not previously because of how high inflation was (it made setting an interest rate for the buyer and seller impossible.)

Prior to Milei's reforms the banking system just didn't function. People functioned in the financial/currency black market. Things are normalizing now. The real question is if the politics allow for things to normalize further and if Milei doesn't keep going with wacko anarchocapitalist stuff.

I'd take Milei over this clown. Merrick Garland can't bury this one.

Horseshoe theory in action. Michael Tracy is mad because Biden isn't liberal enough and thinks Biden is too pro Israel/is a Tanky on Russia.

A tanky is a left wing person who apologizes for soviet/Chinese atrocities (pro tank when soviets put down rebellions in eastern europe)

It appears he is diminishing at a pretty fast clip. Regardless of which side of the fence you're on, I can't see how you can endorse/vote for Biden in good faith.

It is the cleanest path to victory and Dems have already laid the groundwork for bullshit primaries with Hillary rigging it against Bernie. Hilarious all the "Democracy!" cries that come out of the side with that primary system.

My thoughts, exactly. I hope he does stay on the ticket because I think he's a disaster that will be easy to beat, but I can't understand how anyone with a bit of brains or heart can, in good faith, think he's qualified at this point to run the country. No matter your political persuasion or how much you hate Trump, Biden is simply no longer competent to hold office.

When you've been told for years that Trump is going to dissolve congress, SCOTUS, the FBI and the intelligence agencies, declare himself Emperor for life and declare war on the world, I guess you'll vote for anybody.

Emperor Trumpatine.

Openly trying to overthrow a free election will have that effect.

What about openly interfering with a freely elected president's administration for four years with known false charges? That's OK and good democracy though, huh?

I am at the point I think every parrot that pushes this narrative does not believe what they are saying and only promote the narrative b/c they think it is effective opposition. No reasonable person thinks J6 was an insurrection.

A crudely attempted one. Idk what else you would call their scheme.

It was a mostly peaceful protest. A few people go out of hand and started to riot. Fortunately they walked out peacefully.

It looked nothing like the DC on fire images that occurred by BLM. Maybe that was the real insurrection. It looked like a battle in Baghdad those nights.

I've also posted before that the FBI determined that it wasn't an insurrection and there was scant evidence of anything close to it.

But you still insist it was because you WANT to believe it was. 😏

Yes because Jim and Tammy from bumfuck Pennsylvania were included in the plan lol. No one is arguing the people storming the capitol where going to assume control of the government.

Then why do you keep calling at an insurrection? Or is your only point to troll? The pushback on J6 in immediate contradiction to say BLM riots or SCOTUS confirmation riots, or Pro-Palatine unrest or any other violent protests that result in little if any jailtime is at the crux of the belief there is something more nefarious at play. That is even before you look at footage of capitol police letting people in on one hand and on the other hand firing upon crowds with tear gas and flash bangs (or lead upon an unarmed woman at point blank). That is without jumping to the "Fedsurrection" level of full on conspiracy that is hard to argue has zero merit.

The protestors were useful morons. Whip them into a frenzy, refuse to have adequate security in the capitol despite being asked for it ahead of time, sit on your hands and not call in the national guard when it turned into a riot, let them interrupt the tallying of the votes and buy yourself enough time get your fake electors installed. Luckily Congress reconvened that night and Pence to his credit stood up for what is right. But it's clear Trump had a gameplan to try and overturn the results.

What was BLM trying to do? Take over control of some Starbucks and Nike stores? They're all idiots and should all be held accountable for whatever laws they broke. But there was no overarching political goal like there clearly was with Jan 6.

Kind of hard to have an insurrection without an armed militia or group. It is clear there was little if any organization to the protest. They few that did get in didn't resemble a group that had a target and purpose. Pence being level headed and refusing to bow to Trump's wishes put a big obstacle in anyone stopping the count.
