Jebus, roughing the passer is ****ed. That was my last change to the sliders before it went live and somehow that setting change didn't make it onto my spreadsheet.

Initially started at 62, decreased to 55 (what is live now) and should be back to 50 for at least a week of testing.

Since a few of you had to play with that bullshit, it is only fair not to change it until everyone has played week 1 (right before advance).

It will go to 50 for week 2.

The FCS team I played was stupid good for a D+ team. Most notably the quarterback was running and making cross body throws a player with his rating shouldn't be able to.. they were going 4-5 wide, slinging it like he was Peyton ****ing Manning (with CPU QB Accuracy set to 35)!!! REALLY hard to assess what to do about QB ratings while the roughing is so ****ed.

During my game I was called for THREE roughing calls (45 yards) and all came on 3rd and long pass rushing situations, so they kept drives alive and VERY MUCH changed the dynamic of the game. Also caused my 7 year old nephew some concern when I screamed, "mother****er!" at my TV.

So those of you who haven't played week 1, BEWARE! THERE BE DANGER HERE!

Held Purdue to 114 total yards in a 24-7 Bearcat victory, but boy you guys weren't kidding about roughing the passer haha.

I was feeling nice, hadn't been one called all game. Then, when I took a 17 point lead in the fourth with about 2 minutes left, I guess the CPU went into panic mode. Two straight roughing calls put Purdue at my 18 yard-line in under 12 seconds (15 tacked on after one pass was completed). The third play of the drive I only rushed TWO guys and controlled my safety. Made an easy user-INT in the endzone, and neither of my rushers was within five yards of the QB when he threw the ball. Surprise! My AI decides to bull rush after the throw, drives the OG five yards back into the QB, erasing my INT.

Got poetic justice after that with two sacks to force a turnover on downs though.

Well the bulls ran into an Alabama Team...Oh I'm Sorry friggin FCS SouthEast. This team was amazing. QB looked like Cam Newton, running back was Barry Sanders clone and all of their DBs covered like Deion Sanders.

3 - Roughing the Passer Penalties on 3rd and long
5 - Interceptions
Halftime Score FCS SE - 27 USF - 0

If this is any indication of how the CPU is going to play, I'm in BIG BIG trouble

My suggestion is go back to Heisman "out of the box" stats (except penalties OTHER than RTP) and then watch the scores and stats, adjust from there. In the exhibition games I've played, straight Heisman seemed pretty good.

Akron's QB was Peyton Manning too.

I'm not a world beater at NCAA, so I'm amazed at some of your guys' comments on week one.

I've been playing on stock All American settings (ALL 50 ERRYTHING), and Purdue gave me hell when I was practicing against them in an offline dynasty. Won a 28-27 nail biter.

I honestly feel that stock All American is more of a challenge than our current Heisman settings, with the exception of creating big run plays. I couldn't break off a big run to save my life.

Of course, it could've just been an anomaly and I have no idea what the eff I'm talking about. Also, I dominated TOP with my run game something like 14:30-5:30. Maybe if I focused on the pass game I would've struggled in the same ways you guys did.

Does anybody else run three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust like me? Or is everyone partial to passing the football?

I ran more than most, but threw a bit also. Passing: 8/14, 170 yards. Rushing: 175 yards on 27 carries.

The thing about adjusting the sliders is they are all interrelated as far as how the game "feels". The 3rd and long roughing calls extend drives by mediocre teams and changes the feel or flow of a game.

Even though the FCS QB threw WAY too well, I suspect this is a result of the heisman setting and not the QB accuracy. But that's one setting that effects everything, versus a setting that might tune things down for them without effecting the others so drastically.

Had those roughing calls not been there, I wouldn't have given up two of those scores and would have easily made another or more. 31-21 could have been 45-7 really easily and that's more realistic (I AM Houston, after all) then blowing them out 65-0 (I'm not Oregon).

I agree the QB needs to be tuned down, as does the coverage, but since the roughing is so game changing it will be the big change. Expect little bumps for the others. In my mind going forward:

CPU QB Accuracy: 35->30
User/CPU Pass Coverage: 60->55
Roughing the Passer: 55->50**

** Going to test a game or two like this tonight/tomorrow. Roughing could go lower to 45 if need be.

The first half was a battle back and forth. I established my running game early and scored on my first drive. FS quickly followed suit and we had a game. With about :40 left in the half I was happy to keep FS out of the end zone and have them kick a FG when they faked it for a touchdown! I went down the field with :40 left to get another quick score.

I made some adjustments at half time which proved to be the difference. My O line dominated the game that help establish the run and gave my QB time to pass.

I will say there were a lot of roughing the passer calls but none of them went against me.
Time for FCS east! Rutgers 1-0!

Rutgers 42- FCS EAST 6

I threw my 1st 2 picks of the season against FCS east. There were quite a few roughing the passer penalties on both teams.

Don't let the score foul you because it was actually a challenging game up until the 4th quarter. Their QB scrambled all over the place so I spied him for the rest of the game and shut him down.

My RB Higgins continues to lead Rutgers with another 100+ yards and 2 TDs.
Rutgers 2-0. Now comes Eastern Michigan.

You people and your FCS matchups. I'm jealous haha. I was nervous about Purdue, but I was able to control the clock. Now I have to try and replicate that performance against an Illinois team that is a bit tougher in the video game world (more athletes, runner at QB).

However, I'm fairly certain that I'll see an FCS team in week three and then Miami of Ohio after that, so I guess I'll stop complaining.

After that the real fun begins with user-vs-user games nearly every week!

I run a very balanced offense, which is the biggest reason I choose Rutgers over Louisville. I played much better with them over the other teams.

So far after 2 games I've been able to execute my game plan quite well. I could be wrong but I think most in the league pass much more than run. But I could be wrong.

I'm getting this same error as bruce and bkess. I tried it yesterday and today. I know it's not my Playstation (At least not the disc or system itself, maybe files?) because I have another Online dynasty that I do just for myself and it works fine.

Any ideas?

Dynasty servers aren't down. I've been playing my personal OD all night. I think it's something screwy with the IE dynasty, not all of us are affected it seems though. I just tried it again, no go, but my other dynasty is fine.
