I'll put it this way. Jameis Winston, Cam Newton, and Johnny Manziel winning the Heisman Trophy are far more egregious than Pete Rose being in the hall of fame would be.

I agree, his play on the field would have unquestionably put him in the hall.

His dishonesty regarding his gambling and his lack of contrition have kept him out of it.
