Decomits
DE Aaron Lynch ****
OL-Jordon Prestwood ****
RB-Justice Hayes ****
(Update) Just a rumor but it sounds like Ben Councell *** may be visiting other schools.

Weve also lost several close decisions this year and have dropped out of many recruits lists. Savon Huggins is a hope, as is Jacoby Brissett and Cam Mcdaniel. But besides a few bright spots on the 2011 Commit list (which i trust less than Aaron Lynch) its not looking so good for us right now. Thoughts?

Not looking good, but not looking terrible either. Still a pretty solid all-around class and I like the way our team is playing right now.

I'm not pushing the panic button yet.. As stated in other posts, 2/2/11 is still a long ways out and things can change in a second for the better... Kapron Lewis Moore was a Texas A&M commit until the last minute.. Landing Ishaq, Huggins, Scarlett and French would offset these chumps backing out...

I have faith that Kelly is going to do just fine. These kids don't want to be here, fine. It is still early.

In the past, I would hope to myself that a decommitting recruit would regret it in a couple years because we'd be winning. Of course, it appears that many decommits made the right decision (based solely on the team's success on the field). Finally, I think we've turned a corner with this coaching staff, and I frankly don't care if someone decommits. Kelly and the other coaches will find guys who want to be here, and they'll be plenty talented enough to win big at ND.

I agree...but on some level it still hurts.Because with kids like Lynch and Hayes they kept saying they were 100% and were dead-set at being Irish...then within days that's completely flipped.
I'm tired of hearing the "Oh he's 17 years old...." If you can't make your own decisions by the time you're 17-18 then you probably don't have the capacity to make it in college.
I completely wish they would get rid of verbal commitments.Make it a signature or nothing.

You dont know why Justice opened up. He may have opened up because he knows something about Amir or Savon. We are still in the mix for a lot of players at this point. Finishing out the season on a high note will help.

Real Chance:
Ishaq Williams
Savon Huggins
Christian French
Amir Carlisle
Troy Niklas
Miles Shuler
Everett Golson
Cam McDaniel
Jay Whitmire

Possible Shot:
Brennan Scarlett
Jacoby Brissett
Ray Drew
Wayne Lyons
Denzel Perryman

Long way to go ladies so lets relax

It's a conspiracy, all the recruits banded together and they will all decommit one after the other to drop ND into the doldrums of college football.

Maybe that was just the nightmare I had.

I love recruiting to see the kids that come and go and its like a rollercoaster. Nothing wrong with a ride of emotion, it's nice to imagine the possibilities on the field but better to enjoy the actual product on the field.

The train is loading up and is about to take off but their are only a certain amount of seats. First come first serve.

quite frankly i don't care my attitude is let them go. BK should not have to beg a kid to want to go to ND.

Im just afraid the floodgates may open on us. Not terribly worried about the fate of next year. But more that it will be harder to get high caliber guys to come to ND.

Also, the "but im just a baby!!!" excuse recruits are using to justify decomitting is pathetic. Your 18 years old, ACT LIKE IT, you agreed to something FOLLOW THROUGH

To be honest there are plenty of guys out there that can fill that void. We are looking to be in good shape with a number of them. Huggins would be huge obviously. Mcdaniel, I'll tell you he's a baller. Same thing with Carlisle...

I agree with the opinion that BK, nor any head coach at ND, should ahve to beg a kid to play at ND.

Decommit? Open up? Take visits. Pull the scholarship. See ya. On to the next one

We need to solidify this class, I've been expressing concerns about recruiting for a while and this is not going to help. If this class falls to pieces then it doesn't matter what we do on the field.

I think our recruiting class is loudly coming together more than quietly falling apart. All the rah rah guys are gone, what's left are the guys who actually want to come to ND. We've still got a bunch of solid players in there, and as others have pointed out, there should still be more coming.

BK has always said he want players that WANT to be here. If they don't they don't. Don't get me wrong I really want these players to come. But if they decide not to.....NEXT!

the class is impoding right in front of our eyes. And for all of the people on here who say we don't need so and so and next one up. Remember that when we still suck in 2 to 3 years from now.Elite players with good coaching win a lot of games PERIOD.Has anyone seen the 2012 schedule?

No need to panic. We go through the same thing every year. If I remember right, we added a couple of quality players in the final two weeks of the previous recruiting season. Some of these freshmen have made major contributions to our recent two victories. The players who have decommitted recently were facing competition to get on the field. I guess they figured they didn't measure up to others vying for playing time at the same positions.

We want guys who are hungry, not those who need to be pampered.

I don't know Boise st is pretty good and they have maybe up to 5 four star kids on the roster.
Same with TCU, but both are pretty good teams that can compete with over 90 percent of the teams in the country.

Or better yet look at Cincinatti when Kelly coached their, they barely got "elite" kids but won a BCS conference two years in a row.

So Notre Dame on an average gets way more talented kids then those schools. No need to worry about the future especially with Kelly and Co.

I am not a fan of the guys commiting then decommiting but it is life i will not lose sleep over it. There are guys that will come here and want to play ball. There will be guy that are good ball player that will be available last minute that kelly can coach into good players. I think that if these guys go other places that means they will drop other players that we can scope up.

I hate when guys decommit especially guys that I thought were solid players and good guys but we find out who really wants to be here TJ jones almost decommitted but BK gave him an ulimatum and he decide that he loved ND we will find these players that love nd and that is important we will end up with a top 15 to top to 10 recruiting class MCdaniel will replace Hayes and Huggins could still come in and what about Carlisle we have some really solid players
