I dont know of any teams that dont use those services, and considering that theres much much worse going on in college football, i honestly dont see why its that huge of a deal. Much less what an appropriate penalty would be. More schollys? Maybe, but if you look at how Oregon typically recruits, they seldom get 5 star talent and the bank on player development on the 3stars or less. Just my opinion but NCAA is needed on many more things of importance than this
What's the difference between this an Alabama and Albert Means?
A zero! $25K versus $250K.
In first case, means was pimped by his HS coach to an assistant paid for by a third party, a booster, to hide the money. In the current case the pimp was a mentor who masqueraded as a recruiting analyst and was brazenly paid directly by The University bypassing the traditional booster scam.
But it's O.K., right because it was only $25K?
Lost Scholarships hurt the university, the NCAA MEMBER, and is an appropriate punishment but the number is a slap on the wrist.
I like show cause orders on the coaches but when they leave for the NFL it's the same as MLB giving a pitcher a 3 game suspension. It's no suspension at all.
