Alright folks….when’s the last time you were this optimistic about the upcoming Irish season?* For The Hammer, it was my freshman year, 1992, and I was sporting a mean looking mop-top*with shaved sides.* We had a pre-season Heisman candidate in Rick Mirer, a bruising Jerome Bettis just coming off*his famous Sugar Bowl performance, a line [...]

With all of our talent at the skill positions on offense, I am not as concerned as you are about the kicking game. We will get our points, and hopefully when we relinquish the ball to the opposing team, we can pin em back a little. In a close game, I like our chances in the time management department.

Lets see here every game worries me because I hate that we have the Heisman front runner and a preseason #1 team, lots of pressure for guys that have never had to handle it in their lives.

It's got to start sometime KMac! If the bar is never raised, then we'll be a 9-3 team and that's just not good enough! (maybe for you Lloyd). I think our boys have had pressure on them before. Maybe not the positive kind that we have now, but it's time to take the next step and move forward. I really hope everybody realizes how good ND is! New Team, New Attitude. Likewise, we should also have a new attitude. Isn't it a coincidence that the year we come back like Lazarous is the year we got our dome reguilded? It's shining in SB again and we should be too! Raise your expectations people, cause Here Come The IRISH..... -Don

donjuan don't get me wrong I didn't mean I don't want it to start now I am just worried. I remember eventhough I was young at the time feeling very confident about the '92 and '93 seasons as well as '95; to me those teams played tough teams but I was always very confident about them being able to beat most of the teams on their slate...this years teams there are a lot of question marks in my head such as Georgia Tech, Michigan, Penn State that just worry me....that is a tough group to play and with a shakey defense I am just a little worried that the target of being #1 might be too much......but hey I love being proved wrong in situations like this.

That's the right attitude, Don. The players have that swagger back. It's time for the fans to reclaim it.

You don't go to ND to sneak up on people. You go there to be considered the best. If you're not willing to wear the bulls eye on your chest, you are not made to wear the gold helmet on your head.
