All that BS about Oklahoma speed can be put to rest now. We beat the crap out of them, and ran with them all night. LOL.

I just read through the game thread on Sooners.Fan.com and I thoroughly enjoyed the overconfident jackasses whining about the refs more and more as they began to figure out that Notre Dame was going to beat them. It is very funny stuff.

I barely drank anything this game because I was jumping up and down yelling at the TV.

I have to say this as I thought Oklahoma would win but Notre Dame impressed me with this win. I thought they would lose for sure and they pulled it out. Teaches the sceptics to not doubt this team. Great win

  • We physically dominated Oklahoma. As in, beat the sh!t out of them. In Norman. Held them to something like 15 net yards rushing. Let that sink in.
  • That last series said it all. Looked like the Sooners would score a cheap TD to take some shine off our win, but one official review, offensive PI, and brutal sack later... game over. Sit the f*ck down, Stills.
  • Remember when those dinosaurs at NDNation were grumbling about how Jenkins wasn't willing to open his wallet wide enough for Bob Stoops? Back to your cave, ND Taliban.

I said we needed a perfect game to win, and guess what, IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Golson was the man tonight. I'll admit I was a doubter, but are you serious? He ran with a head full of steam like a goddamn running back, that pass to Chris Brown was so pretty the real Chris Brown would try to punch it, that rushing TD was legit, and he's awesome. Rees is 1 for 1 and there are probably fanboys who are trying to credit the win to him (jokes). Good seeing him and Eifert hook up for a 1st down like usual.

-Big play running threat is gone? Okay, Cierre Wood will take the role. He gone. Can these guys get tackled in the backfield? Now when they are getting 3 yards, that's considered getting stuffed! Cierre Wood is going to be stiffarming fools in the NFL soon, and give it up to Riddick. Got a TD and ran like he did against BYU. Dropped a big pass but we'll forget that!

-Davaris Daniels, TJ Jones, Tyler Eifert. Pretty DAMN good receiving trio if you ask me. Throw it up to Daniels and he comes down with it. He's got 3 years left. Get used to Golson to Daniels because it's gonna be happening a lot for the rest of 2012 and 2013, 2014, and 2015. Oh, Chris Brown? I always said, "This guy won't do anything this year! Get your hopes down! He's a mere mortal!" Nice routes and a nice catch. Not as explosive as Golden but he could be playing a similar role starting next year. Freshmen>>>>>>>>

-Good on ya, offensive line. Y'all gave those running backs huge holes. Golson had days in the pocket. Golic was the dark spot but even then he was blocking Sooners on the TD runs! He stepped up a bit.

-No pressure from the D-line, but running backs couldn't get through them. That rotation is amazing. The backup defensive line is one of the best in the country. Did you see Schwenke and Day in the backfield? I did. Day is the future and Schwenke could start for almost any team in the damn country.

-MANTISMAN!!!!!!!! He won it tonight. Go home, Collin Klein. I could run for TDs with the holes you get. I know you like putting up stats in the 4th, but you don't have jack sh*t on Manti! I think I saw the team chaplain run out to give Landry Jones his last rites after that sack, and that correctly called INT? Beautiful. This is a linebacker who stops the run like the all-time greats and plays pass D like he's Darrelle Revis. He will win the Heisman Trophy if the voters know anything about football. Calabrese is bad, but Fox has improved by like 1000 percent. Not the best in coverage still but he can stop the run and rush the passer. Give him a 5th year!

-Remember how some of us (including me) thought Russell starting showed how shallow the cornerback depth was? No, he's just F*CKING AWESOME! Dude is making tackles like he's been solely playing that position his whole life. I didn't notice any other corners which is good because it means they are wrapping up and not giving up big plays. Before the year this secondary was untested. Now they've been tested and they have got a f*cking giant *** A!

-Brindza was getting hate from me after that miss, but he must have heard it and been like, "Title2012, f*ck yo couch" because he kicked the football like Rick James kicked Charlie Murphy's couch. Perfect. 40+ yard field goals to ice it. DAMN! Cam did a good job returning too. I hope that's not forgotten. He almost broke one. Love that kid.

-Brian Kelly had the game of his life. There were 2 play call that I didn't think was perfect (throwing it on 1st near the goal line on the offensive possession before OKLA's TD and that stupid WR pass), but besides that he was a genius! Chris Brown's passes thrown to him were perfect play calls, he ran the right plays in the redzone and got us TDs. Dude just won Coach of the Year and my presidential vote (might be serious on that last one). Diaco will also get a head coaching job ASAP and after Kelly retires from ND with a few championship rings, I would love to see him be our next head coach.

GO IRISH! BEAT PITT, BC, WAKE, and USC! WE WILL NOT BE LEFT OUT OF THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! THIS IS OUR YEAR!

I think the only bad/ugly is Ishaq's tackling. I think after the game he went in for a hug on Golson but totally whiffed and broke his ankles.

That game was an example of all the bright spots from various games coming together at the right time.

Stills is a punk. Look at the SCOREBOARD.

Golson played confident and his arm is a cannon.

O-line did an AMAZING job with protection and the run game. Thought Golic may have played his best game.

Manti being Manti. Plus we never broke. Kept everything in front and made tackles.

Celebrate today, and move on to Pitt tomorrow.

Punting

Punting

Turk had all day and should have punted better. Would have liked more pressure. Barkley is better than Jones and his WRs are a lot better. Golson is now experienced and ready for the rest of the season. Nobody gave this teams snowballs chance in he'll but a lot of us thought it was possible. This team is the same as last years but with very few turnovers and many more takeaways. You put our TO ratio on our team last year and we win every game. Kelly is making the corrections. Signs of a great coach. Whoever we want to recruit that is still out there should be ours!

First 4 games: 561 yards rushing

Last 4 games: 1011 yards rushing

Our OL has turned a corner. Next year... look out.

So where do the Irish land in this weeks BCS poll? I'm going conservative, saying they jump 1 spot due to Florida's loss and KSU, 'Bama's, & Oregon's wins. But ND could vault higher, if the voters & computers aren't that impressed with Oregon's Tecmo Super Bowl stats against a 1-6 team. Maybe we jump 2 spots if the football gods are kind. Either way, the Fighting Irish are definitely in the BCS championship hunt.

I say ND moves to 4. I don't think they have moved past Alabama, Oregon or KSU. But what a win anyway. Hope there is no let down next week

Not to **** on a huge win, but how does Wood only get 7 carries? Is he in the doghouse? He only had like what, 4 carries after that badass run? That said, Riddick is pretty badass at times too.

Kelly is keeping his NFL draft stock low so he has to come back for another year.

Congrats

Congrats

Congrats Irish !

Golson was the key , with his feet and threw well.

Your 2 safety's played very well and the team as whole tackles extremely well .

You won the turnovers and were better up front on both sides of the ball.

Worn out , long day starting with game day and we just got home in Tulsa . My wife and daughter are happy as they cheered for Irish today. My son and I are licking our wounds.

As was the case in 99 , total class acts and school and fan base who acts like they been there before and knows how to win .

Beat USC and then beat Bama for the title

All around I'd say OU is better, but Barkley is better than Jones and his WRs are the best in the country. Luckily his OL is not good.

He hasn't had much pressure on him all year except for Stanford. I would trade any two of our wins this year for a wing against USC.
