I said we needed a perfect game to win, and guess what, IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Golson was the man tonight. I'll admit I was a doubter, but are you serious? He ran with a head full of steam like a goddamn running back, that pass to Chris Brown was so pretty the real Chris Brown would try to punch it, that rushing TD was legit, and he's awesome. Rees is 1 for 1 and there are probably fanboys who are trying to credit the win to him (jokes). Good seeing him and Eifert hook up for a 1st down like usual.
-Big play running threat is gone? Okay, Cierre Wood will take the role. He gone. Can these guys get tackled in the backfield? Now when they are getting 3 yards, that's considered getting stuffed! Cierre Wood is going to be stiffarming fools in the NFL soon, and give it up to Riddick. Got a TD and ran like he did against BYU. Dropped a big pass but we'll forget that!
-Davaris Daniels, TJ Jones, Tyler Eifert. Pretty DAMN good receiving trio if you ask me. Throw it up to Daniels and he comes down with it. He's got 3 years left. Get used to Golson to Daniels because it's gonna be happening a lot for the rest of 2012 and 2013, 2014, and 2015. Oh, Chris Brown? I always said, "This guy won't do anything this year! Get your hopes down! He's a mere mortal!" Nice routes and a nice catch. Not as explosive as Golden but he could be playing a similar role starting next year. Freshmen>>>>>>>>
-Good on ya, offensive line. Y'all gave those running backs huge holes. Golson had days in the pocket. Golic was the dark spot but even then he was blocking Sooners on the TD runs! He stepped up a bit.
-No pressure from the D-line, but running backs couldn't get through them. That rotation is amazing. The backup defensive line is one of the best in the country. Did you see Schwenke and Day in the backfield? I did. Day is the future and Schwenke could start for almost any team in the damn country.
-MANTISMAN!!!!!!!! He won it tonight. Go home, Collin Klein. I could run for TDs with the holes you get. I know you like putting up stats in the 4th, but you don't have jack sh*t on Manti! I think I saw the team chaplain run out to give Landry Jones his last rites after that sack, and that correctly called INT? Beautiful. This is a linebacker who stops the run like the all-time greats and plays pass D like he's Darrelle Revis. He will win the Heisman Trophy if the voters know anything about football. Calabrese is bad, but Fox has improved by like 1000 percent. Not the best in coverage still but he can stop the run and rush the passer. Give him a 5th year!
-Remember how some of us (including me) thought Russell starting showed how shallow the cornerback depth was? No, he's just F*CKING AWESOME! Dude is making tackles like he's been solely playing that position his whole life. I didn't notice any other corners which is good because it means they are wrapping up and not giving up big plays. Before the year this secondary was untested. Now they've been tested and they have got a f*cking giant *** A!
-Brindza was getting hate from me after that miss, but he must have heard it and been like, "Title2012, f*ck yo couch" because he kicked the football like Rick James kicked Charlie Murphy's couch. Perfect. 40+ yard field goals to ice it. DAMN! Cam did a good job returning too. I hope that's not forgotten. He almost broke one. Love that kid.
-Brian Kelly had the game of his life. There were 2 play call that I didn't think was perfect (throwing it on 1st near the goal line on the offensive possession before OKLA's TD and that stupid WR pass), but besides that he was a genius! Chris Brown's passes thrown to him were perfect play calls, he ran the right plays in the redzone and got us TDs. Dude just won Coach of the Year and my presidential vote (might be serious on that last one). Diaco will also get a head coaching job ASAP and after Kelly retires from ND with a few championship rings, I would love to see him be our next head coach.
GO IRISH! BEAT PITT, BC, WAKE, and USC! WE WILL NOT BE LEFT OUT OF THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! THIS IS OUR YEAR!
