He played in a pro style offense in high school. Came on campus later then Rees. So yeah he's being red shirted

Do you suggest Kelly should execute the plays for the offense?
I'll give you the accuracy, awareness and he had good to great arm strength, but Crist is more mobile, in his first year of a new offense with new footwork to learn, has great leadership qualities, and has an absolute cannon for an arm. I appreciate everything that Clausen did for the team for the last three years and ultimately he may prove the better quarterback, but there is no way he will be viewed as 20X better in three years.

I think BK was right there, this offense is built on reads and good quick decisions.
That's not what we saw the first half. BK got in Dayne's ear in the locker room and we saw what happened,

37 total rushing yards today not bad at all. I know will have our hands full next week with Navy. We won't have to deal with passing much. Hopefully our run d is ready.

It is ridiculous how some people act on this site. We beat WMU by 24 point without our starters playing the 4th quarter. The only true negative to draw from this game was the amount of penalties we had in the first half.

We watch the game from different experiences. The offensive play calling in the second half was dramatically simplified. All athletes look great when they run plays they know over and over, and the qb only needs to "read" one or two receivers, and knows where his safety valve is. The defensive play calling also seemed to go back to more of a base D. Result? 3 and out.
Tired of blaming receivers dropping passes and missing blocks when you run 54 different plays. Defense forced 4 turnovers today
And as was pointed out, only ND and LSU have played 6 BCS teams so far.
EDIT: By the way, let me add and stress that so far I think this is the most solid staff ND has had since the Holtz years, from top to bottom.

lol. Well, if you had watched the first half vs. the second half, through an athlete and coach eye instead of a fan's eye, you would have a better idea. I think.

Kelly's also not the one who fails to take the hot read on an obvious blitz that leads to a sack. Kelly's also not responsible for the stupid penalties that kept that last drive in the 1st half alive.

Which play? How much time did Crist have from the time he caught the snap until he was pressured? What was the play call on the play? Which receiver was the hot read? Did the receiver respond? Which play?

The reffing absolutely sucked today. How much do those Kansas City whoremasters get paid? Whatever it was, it was too much! Seriously, I think we should boycott the Big East. By the way, Tate Forcier has an unnatural ability to break ankles. His rushing TD was actually kind of sick.
But then he got way too fired up. Michigan would have actually had a chance had RR sent Forcier to the cheerleaders at that point.
