Lots of time. OLine TD. 28-7
I think Navy made a great mistake at the end of the first half by trying to throw the ball. It gave ND the ball with 2 minutes left and left Navy with a 28-7 deficit. Better to get a few first downs and leave 21-7

Not that the outcome would have been any different, but that touchdown finished Navy.

Seeing the Notre Dame players salute the Navy Midshipmen at the end of the game--seeing them stand solemn while Navy played their school song--was probably the most impressive thing I've seen our team do outside the context of a game. I hope that post-game ritual becomes a standard policy when playing the military academies. As far as I can remember, that was an entirely new gesture.

I love playing the academies. I believe it would be disrespectful to stop playing them now, just because they are not the juggernauts they were in the first half of the twentieth-century. I was glad to see our team show them the respect they deserved, knowing what their students are preparing for...knowing that a bunch of guys with NFL prospects beat a bunch of guys that will be laying their lives on the line in Iraq and wherever else.

My comment, "Lots of time. OLine TD. 28-7" cryptic as it was referred to Quinn having lots of time to throw on that play. The announcers talk about "coverage sacks" well I thought that was an "OLine TD" they protected Quinn long enough for a receiver to work free.

The way it turned out for Navy that late ND TD probably was the game sealer but their passing game had several opportunities to make big plays or scores but they didn't connect with wide open receivers.
