Does anyone know why the interlocking ND's were removed from the uniforms last year?
Will we ever see the green jerseys again?

nayers said:i am one who thinks that the jerseys are somewhat "sacred" i know it sounds wierd...but there are just somethings that never should be changed, let alone touched..
1. Gold Helmet (must always be 24K gold) no stickers
2. Names should never be on the jersey
3. Green jerseys should only be in championship game, only against USC
4. No logo on field, or endzone...
there are more..just can't think of any at the moment...i am really supersticious when it comes to things like that

the_voidoid said:you are wrong. parseghian busted them out in '66 versus purdue; the team warmed up in blue then switched just prior to kickoff. the place went apeshit, and the irish, obviously, won. they were around pre-devine.
however, once they went to the greens full-time for a few seasons i think they lost their magical powers.
BigIrish said:1921: Although Gold and Blue have always been and still are the Notre Dame school colors, green football jerseys were first used in a game against Iowa in 1921 when Knute Rockne, realizing that Iowa's dark jerseys would make it difficult to distinguish between the players, ordered the green worn. The switch wasn't lucky for the Irish, as they were upset by the Iowan's 10-7. The green remined with our team as an alternate color through the years, popping up occasionally as a surprise, as in Dan Devine's ploy against Southern Cal in 1977.

I think we all need to stop being superstitious and just enjoy a change in pace and the tradition and mystique when and if they wear the green jerseys.Svoboda said:Sorry, but I LOVE the green jerseys, mystique or no mystique, win or loss. I simply feel there is something powerful when they wear them, but it must be done on occasion.
