I have a hard time figuring out why star defensive recruits aren't running to ND. A great school, national exposure weekly, BCS games, aren't attractive anymore? Notre Dame has what every player wants, not to mention the CHANCE TO PLAY soon if you are a 4 or 5 star rated linebacker or D-lineman. Go to Florida and sit on the bench for several years or come here and perhaps start for 3 or 4 years. I think those that pass on a wide open situation will later regret it.

Until ND plays a fast aggresive style of defense and puts players in the NFL consistantly ND will always have this problem. BTW none of the recruits think they are going to be sitting on the bench for several years, no matter where they go.

aww.. delusions of grandeur strikes again.. i guess i should have known!

Sad truth... Offensive Players have better grades than Defensive Players... don't believe me? look it up.... That is as much a problem as anything... and a huge part to why when ND is elite it is the O leading the way

ACamp is exactly right! For whatever reason O players historicaly have beter grades than D players. So for a school that stresses academics it is going to be hard, we have to really search for those diamonds in the rough.

Me too we need top prospects badly. CB better recruit or we will struggle.
