I was impressed with your OL today from the stadium. I was there with some NIU folks and told them I was genuinely impressed with their push. The RB (1) was extremely patient and then had good burst once he found daylight.

Y’all earned it today. Enjoy.
NIU gets those Wisconsin farm boys. They're not great athletes but they're big.

I tried to sign up before the game and warn you about Brown and Rudolph but your mod took awhile to approve me. Brown was obviously the difference in the game but there were other areas NIU won. Something I dont think ND fans realized...NIU is bigger on both lines than ND and it showed today.
Our coach didn’t even know we were playing NIU a week ago so good chance he never heard of Brown before this game.
He was certainly the main difference.
Yep. Enjoy the win.

ND lost on offense. I know you wanted to get Leonard going...but you could have stuck with the run and probably scored 21+

Being that it was a really close games, im curious if ND fans acknowledge or even care about the blatant biased bad calls in the last minute? Do you just consider that home field advantage? Or maybe NBC advantage? But that was almost criminal how the refs tried to save ND in the closing moments. Any thoughts on the refs?
Ope aaaaaand all the good nature I had in my last post is gone.

Care to acknowledge the missed kick-catch interference on Greathouse, or the PI on the first interception by Leonard? If you even did a little bit of research you’d know those aren’t *our* refs.

Don’t be an asshole.

It's different in the closing moments. Everyone thought NIU had the first down to seal the game. I think even the announcers. There's 50/50 calls in every quarter, but that was really bad and its all over the national chat boards.

Idk bro, replays in the stadium made it seem close. ND loses as many challenges at home as it wins. ACC refs have no reason to help ND.

I think they probably realized that spot was bad but without a better camera angle that actually showed it their hands were tied.

what about not starting the clock after the 3rd down review? Even the announcers addressed that as "luck". That was two really egregious calls in a 5 second span that really helped ND

Whoever is saying this is the worst loss in ND history hasn't been watching ND football very long.

Off the top of my head I can name at least 5 worse losses:

1. Tulsa the week Declan Sullivan died from a scissor lift accident at practice
2. 3 win Syracuse team that fired its head coach, and the crowd threw snowballs at the players
3. Uconn led by former ND QB Zach Frazer
4. Navy 2007 snapping a 44 game winning streak
5. South Florida which had a delay and the debut of purple face Kelly.

.
I hear ya, but it tops all of those losses because of the expectations for the year. Especially after the delicious dish of rat poison we all consumed after ND beat aTm at their house. The schedule is incredibly soft by ND standards and should have been a cake walk into the playoffs.

We never used the timeout it gave us so it really didn't have an impact on the outcome.

Also as Mac has pointed out the refs routinely screw us over and an ACC crew has no incentive to try and put their thumb on the scale in our favor. In fact on of the biggest reasons that ND fans that want to join a conference point to as a reason is so that we can get some home cooking from the refs once in a while.

It was just weird bc to everyone else it looked like the runner made it by 2 yards..... It was like they didn't see the obvious result and chose the almost impossible to see result. Had ND pulled this game out I think that would have been all over the media replays and questioned big time.

It happens....refs aren't perfect. But then you double down and mess up the clock? now it looks bad

I’m with you. It looked as bad as the one ND got against em in Texas last week.

True. It didnt matter in the end. But at the time NIU could have run the clock down to 5 seconds or forced you to use the TO. It's more the principal than the result.

But on the plus side it was a pretty clean game for 59 minutes and the refs didnt matter.

Beating ND is big for many reasons...but the biggest is the Chicagoland Irish fan base......illionois still doesn't have a state favorite team

Can I ask this: if I were to look over NI’s film from week 1 and last year would it have been obvious that Brown was that good.
Because seriously our coaching staff had no clue. I think they didn’t do their job.

Then there is the horrendous PI that was not called on the first INT that lead to an NIU fieldgoal. Just gonna pretend that didnt happen?

Brown was a decent recruit out of Georgia....had offers to NC State, South Carolina, Va tech and WV...he was also a 11.00, 100m track guy in HS. He ran for 1,300 yards last season only 200 carries. If they didnt identify him as trouble they did not do their homework. His career average is 6.3 YPC.

I think Greathouse still should have caught that. Not a horrible drop on his part but come on make a play.

PI is always debatable. I have a still shot of that 4th and 2 where the ND DB has his right arm wrapped around the waist of the RB well before the ball was thrown. I ignored that. Spotting the ball in the closing 30 seconds when everyone can see it's a bad spot is different. PI is like holding....could call a lot more than they do

Congrats on the win, NIU was the better team, but coming to an opposing team’s site and asking if they:
- Acknowledge, or care, about “blatant biased bad calls” in the last minute
- Consider it home field advantage or NBC advantage

is a douchbag move.

You’re not a Notre Dame fan so you might not have seen ND get screwed on just as an egregious first down call last week against A&M, or no less than 3-4 missed targeting calls toward ND last year (usually by an ACC officiating crew that seems to harbor resentment over the fact that ND is not in the conference).

Regardless, I can’t imagine going to an opposing teams’s site and basically saying “hey, I know you lost, but how do you feel about the refs making key calls in your favor”, but you do you I guess.

I'll call it like it is, I'd much rather play for this coach than the clown that is known as "MFMF."

I'll admit it. They were pretty egregious. Bad calls, no doubt.

Maybe...but go to some national sites or just espn, yahoo....im going to assume those aren't NIU fans that are saying the refs tried to steal the game for ND. That's why Im asking...it's hard not to be biased but when I see tons of comments on the CBS board with fans saying the refs are crooks, I wonder how ND fans see it.

Neutral fans are always rooting for an upset and in a close game they flip over a bad call. I started seeing them in the Bama SF game today and I was flipping out.

All these losses sucked, but we didn't think we could win a championship in any of those seasons.

fair enough....but when you start to think about the dollar value NBC has in ND remaining in the top ten its reasonable to question really bad calls that could turn the outcome of a game in the closing moments. As I said...bad calls happen. I wanted to see how the ND fans see calls that go their way in that situation.

I like them.
I hate the ones that go against us.
How are NI fans in that situ?

We will gladly take them...we just dont have tens of millions of dollars on the outcomes of our games. Wish we did. The more money the more skepticism.
