Was very entertaining. Kings absolutely dominated play for the first 8-10 minutes. Leveled off and the Devs played much better and looser after that. The loose pucks the Kings were getting too early on are now all going to the Devils. Our kid Larsson looks good.

That is the same way the game was with the Ran-juhs in Europe. Kings absolutely dominated play and the game was still tied after the first period. However, in that game, they outshot New York like 13-4 or something like that. This game seems to be a little more even.

I wanted the Flyers to try and jump up and get him at the draft, but I can't complain I'm really happy with Couturier

Question of the day. Why on gods green earth does the NHL find it necessary to have 3 teams in the NYC area??? It's frickin asinine in my opinion

More asinine than having a franchise in Phoenix or Tampa? If the Islanders had a semi decent arena I could see them drawing a good amount with their young talent.

About equal. Like last year there were 5 Florida and California teams and 6 Canadian teams. So the country that founded the game gets 1 more team then California and Florida. Bettman should have his ****in head examined.

So of the decisions made by the league are idiotic.

Yeah I agree. Was happy they got the "Jets" at least.

Quick was about as awful in that shootout as he could have been. Last year, he was lights out in the shootout, but tonight...ugh!

I personally hate shootouts. I'm my opinion it's a really cheap way to end a game. I wish the NHL would find an alternative

I totally agree. I think a lot of teams play too conservatively in OT just to get to the shootout.

I would like to maybe see a 10 minute OT with no shootout. If it is a tie, its a tie.

Exactly. If you play 10 minutes 4 on 4 I bet a majority of the time someone would eventually score

Plus, a 10 min OT would sure have penalties. I think 4 on 3 skating is much more exciting that a shootout.

Well, I hope it is a good game tonight. I am going to record it because we are having my 40th birthday party tonight. My birthday isn't until next Saturday, but we didn't want my party to conflict with ND/USC. I hope the Kings come out strong against the Flyers. A lot of people think this could be a potential match up in the Finals.

Doughty was interviewed about playing against Simmonds. They were best friends and roommates on the road. That should be fun to watch. I bet they will take some runs at each other.

What a joke the NHL is. The Kings get 2 powerplays with under 3 minutes left and 1 that carries into OT. Oh well. Can't win them all. Thankfully I don't have to watch Richards coast anymore in a Flyers jersey

What is worse is I have to watch Carter in Jackets jersey. I thought our team sucked before...

I feel bad for you. Honestly they probably couldn't have picked a worst center to play with Nash

Quick is looking good in goal so far. Named NHL first star of the week. Franchise record 3 shutouts in a row. 188+ scoreless minutes.

I like this record for him because it is one of the few that people can't attribute to the modern era with overtime and shootout wins. He was also the fastest King goalie to 100 wins, but people rant and rave about that one and how you can't compare 100 wins now with 100 wins in Rogie Vachon's day. It's true, I know, but it still kind of irks me a bit.

Just watched highlights of the Flyer game since I was side tracked with the ND game. The Blue Jackets are awful

You just gotta love Wayne Simmonds. That was one of the first fights I have seen where he hasn't taken off his helmet. Always thought that was a classy move to do that before a fight.

Code is that if you have a visor you take off the helmet. Since he ditched the visor he doesn't "have to"

Have the Kings played the Jackets yet? They are a mess dude

No, I know. However, when he was with the Kings, unless it was a spur of the moment type thing, he would take off his helmet anyway. I just thought it was always a classy move and a little bad *** too.

A little off topic but i really like the Kings white jerseys. The black ones are ok, but those white ones are sweet
