If you want to watch one of the best games of the season - turn on Versus NOW. Bruins/Habs.

Line Brawl, Goalie Fight, and a 6-4 score with 2 min left in the 2nd.

I flipped on the NHL Network after and the guys are all up in arms because of Marchand hitting a hab after an icing whistle. The building was really loud and you couldn't even hear it on the tv.

Also - they were bitching about how the Bruins were fighting with their fighters whereas Montreal had finesse guys. Ference had to fight that big oaf Moen - so Thornton and Boychuk started hammering the poutine pousies.

Overall - great, fun game to watch but the Bruins have got to play a little tighter defensively if they can beat Montreal in a 7 game series at this point. Too many breakdowns to win.

Two goalie fights in a week! I love it! Nothing like a good old fashioned line brawl!

I was hoping for more from Tim Thomas. Both he and Price said their hearts really weren't in it, but it was still cool to see. Tim Thomas is possibly my favorite player who isn't a King. He just always strikes me as a true professional and he seems to just be an all around good guy.

From what I heard, he was a real big influence on Jonathan Quick last year during the Olympics and Quick really looks up to him. That's a big reason the Kings were able to beat Boston both games this season - Quick elevates his game playing Thomas. I don't have sources, that is just what I heard from people who are around the team a lot.

Quicky needs a role model - he was buddies w/my best friend at UMass and every time I went up there he was wild. I like watching the Kings - really hope they make the playoffs. I don't know if it's a product of being a Bruins fan, but I only like watching about 3 teams in the Eastern Conference - but I follow about 5-6 in the West. And I love watching the Blues for some reason.

Anyone else have the same experience with women and hockey... be it mom, sister, girlfriend or wife...

Woman... "Why do they fight, it's so stupid... who wants to see that kind of stuff... and why do the refs let them do it?? bla, bla, bla..."

You... "Just come to a game, you'll love it..."

Woman... "fighting is bla, bla, bla... BLA..."

then you finally get her (whoever she is) to a game and its...

Woman... "Yeah!! Get him!!! Kick His ***!!! YEAH!!!!!... This is so cool"

that's pretty much my universal experience with hockey... the ladies seem to like baseball fights a lot too... I find Hockey is the easiest sport to get a woman to watch and enjoy though, that is once you can get her to give it a chance.

That's right! I forgot he was buddies with your friend in college. Quick is turing out to be a good professional too. Very humble guy. He needs some more consistency, but when he is on, he is fun to watch. He still is young and has room to improve. I am excited about the next few games because he seems to really play strong on the East Coast. I don't know if its because he is close to home or what, but he just seems to bring his "A" game in the East.

Hmmm...do you think there was a little more to that deal? Do you think being away from the wife had anything to do with it? If I was married to Carrie Underwood, I would move to Timbuktu if she asked me to.

Haha. Yeah it was his preference. From what i read LA was his #2 and LA actually put together a better offer, but Ottawa knew if he had to leave he wanted to go to Nashville so they sent him there

I would not have minded seeing Carrie Underwood walking around Staples Center. My Lord she is gorgeous!

I had heard rumors about him coming to LA, but I didn't know it was that close.

Yes she is smoking.

It seems a lot of teams are willing to part with their first round picks this year. The draft this year is pretty weak. It'll be an interesting deadline this year.

My wife digs the fighting. The cool part is, she really understands why they fight and she knows that there are certain times you won't see a fight and the reasons behind it. Pretty cool to see her understanding the game so much.

Also it looks like Quebec is getting ready to make a push for an NHL team. They've got a new arena approved that should be ready for 2015

I just don't think there is that much available this year. Especially out West, it is so tight in the playoff race, I don't know who is really going to mess with team chemistry too much. Plus, who do you really think would be moved?

I know Iginla was a name tossed around a few weeks ago, but with as hot as Calgary has been of late, I don't think Jerome is going anywhere. You got Penner, but I think his price tag is way to high and I question his commitment and consistency. Vanek in Buffalo? Again, what would they ask? I just don't like a lot of the names I am hearing on the trade block.

I really thought the Devils would be having much more of a fire sale than they have so far. Who knows what the deadline will bring for them.

Still got a month though. Teams are gonna fall out of it eventually. I think there are gonna be a ton of smaller trades, but not to many big names.

IMO Pittsburgh HAS to do something. Even if Crosby comes back they are 5th or 6th in the East.
Philly will probably add a solid 2-way winger.
I've heard Boston is looking at defense and center.
Tampa- Who knows?
Vancouver has lost a couple defensemen as of late so they'll do something
LA's been rumored in to many deals to not do something.

So I think this is gonna end up being a relatively busy year

If you were LA's GM, who would you be okay moving? Too many teams want NHL ready players - roster players. Not prospects. The Kings have taken the slow and steady, build-through-the-draft approach and it would be tough to abandon that now and send away a bunch of guys on your roster.

I just don't know who they would move on their current roster. Maybe a lower tier player like Davis Drewiske. Alec Martinez has played himself in to a solid D-man. Forwards? Maybe Stoll, but I doubt it. Simmonds is one name that is often talked about, but, let's face it, he is valuable from a marketing standpoint in a city like LA.

We will see! It will be interesting.

I'm watching the highlights now - half of it I just don't get. Grabner getting laid out into the net I can understand - but was it just all boilover from the last affair? I kind of want Micheal Haley on the Bruins. Actually, I really want him on the Bruins. He could def play 4th line minutes.

PS - gawd watching any NHL highlights on ESPN is miserable - unless Buccigross is doing them.
