A judge just ruled in favor of the players, meaning the lockout has been lifted. Reported on ESPN just now.

Ruled in favor of the players, owners are gonna appeal for sure.

Appeal should happen in a week or less.

Doesn't look good. They'll ask for a stay, and the judge will probably say no. Then they'll appeal, and the presumption in any appeal is that the original judge is correct and it will be tough to overturn. But the appeal will be heard within a week most likely. If the ruling is upheld, they could play the 2011 season because there simply is no lockout, per ESPN's lawyer guru fella.

If the season is at risk, can you imagine how many ND fans we would gain this year?

All of the Cowboy fans would pull for Texas and USC.

Good riddance.

BTW, I grew up a Cowboy fan.

What I am confused about (mostly because I get tired of stories and stop paying attention to the facts) is how a judge can just say "ok lockout is over! time to go back to work".

Does that force the owners to agree to the playerts demands or does this just allow for workouts and practices etc...?

Actually i guess it extends the period of which the CBA can be signed...

Stay of injunction will cause the short term hold. The logn term hold will see if the apeal gets bumped up to the 8th District Court of of Apeals.

I'm still so pissed off about the NFC Championship and that the Packers won the freaking Super Bowl, I wouldn't even care if the NFL took a year off at this point. If we don't have to see goofy *** Erin Fraudgers do his stupid belt dance for an entire calendar year, that's a win for me.

*Sorry, had to vent

"Fraudgers"??? Dude, he won a Super Bowl and had an incredible season! I get that you're mad 'cause your team lost but man, can't call a guy a fraud who friggin' put a team on his back pretty much the whole year (when you're on your 4th string RB and you still win the Super Bowl...you're doing something right.

Haha I know. He was "Fraudgers" to me long before this season, and since I'm a bitter Bears fan, why stop now? The silver lining of his incredible season is winning the SB was basically the ultimate eff you to Favre.
