I was at a family Christmas party on Saturday night, and he texted me to let me know that James Conner was a late scratch for Arizona. Rather than letting me suffer with a zero in my flex spot, he gave me the heads-up so I could go into our semifinal matchup with a full lineup.

As such, he cost himself a victory with his upstanding morals, as I subbed in Sony Michel, who got me 20 points in a 15-point victory. Without a text from bkess, I would've lost by 5.

It's the most conflicted I've ever felt about a playoff result in fantasy football lol.

I read something yesterday about PayPal and Venmo cracking down on fantasy football payments so we may have to use LeagueSafe or something else next year.

That's my fault, I always put something in the comments to the effect of "PAY ME MY FANTASY RICHES WITHOUT FEES YOU BOTTOM FEEDERS!!!!!!"

I've been running a 12-team league since 2008 that has had really low turnover, mostly the same group of guys from our high school football team.

Nearly every year since I started it, we have ONE guy who never pays up front. It's like a running joke at this point, and we let it slide because he's our "he's an asshole, but he's our asshole" guy. He's the glue that binds our group together by giving us a common target, as he's constantly trying to get an edge and piss everyone off, at all times. It's all in good fun...

And, somehow, he always ends up in the playoffs, and somehow nearly always ends up getting just enough money back to offset his non-payment to start the year. He's broken even a few times, ended up winning a little bit after offsetting his league fee a few times, and he's won the league once. I think in 12 years, there have only been two instances where he had to actually give me money at the end of the year so I could complete the league payments.

It's actually amazing that he's been a top 5 team in bonus winnings 9 or 10 years out of 12... and yet has only gotten over the hump and won the league once lol
