Wow. No.
The passing game has been fucking magnificent. That's why we've won. The running game was great against Purdue....who is 108 out 119 FBS teams in rushing defense. If we run into a really good secondary than we're in deep shit. JC and the receivers will still perform, they're that good, but not the way they have the last two weeks.
You seem like a good fan but you're wildly unrealistic (or optomistic).
I posted somewhere that I am only comparing this team to last year's team, and I see improvement all across the board. I have said that 4 wins this season is a possibility. I have extremely guarded optimism. I do not at this moment think they are anywhere near a top 25 ranking, nor do I think they will get there this year. I still think the o line is too weak and eating the wrong foods. I was stunned when NBC actually listed and mentioned what the o line eats during the week, especially the no veggies part. I posted somewhere last week that they need to hire a dietician and eat more vegetables. I wonder if Haden reads this site. You Haden! Quit calling it against ND so often!
I don't believe the d is as bad as many posters on here are saying. I should add that I completely slept through the MSU game, so I don't have a full picture of this team. I did wake up only long enough to see the entire ND scoring drive, so that is my impression of the MSU game - that, and my little nephew's opinion who still sounded optimistic about the season despite the loss. He said they look like a better team, but they made crucial mistakes. That came from a 13 year old who, I am told, sits through entire ND telecasts without taking his eye off the screen (give or take).
Bottom line, I think this team is vastly improved (3-1 vs. 0-4 with no touchdowns). I really see a bright future for this team. I think the rest of the season will be a tough challenge.
