Crist- #63/ #39

Filer- #34/ #52

Hunter- Not on List/ #78

6 ND recruits were on old list, 6 on new list.

Of the 5 that were on both the old & new lists, Clelland & Rudolph dropped slightly, Filer dropped 18 spots, and Crist & EJ made big jumps.

Average rank of 6 recruits on new list is 53.

Overall higher ranking for the ND class will most likely keep then in the #1 spot when the Team Rankings are published again.

Summary of changes in new Rivals 100 that affect recruits who have ND offers:

Of the Total of 63 ND offers, 31 were on the old Rivals 100, 32 are on the new Rivals 100.

64 of the 100 recruits on the new Rivals 100 have already committed, but a total of 14 of the 36 uncommitted have ND offers, so even though a lot of elite recruits have already committed, there is still a lot left on the board. The uncommitted group with ND offers is primarily in the most elite Top 50 category with 11 of the 14. Just to illustrate what an elite group CW targeted this year 11 out of 14 for the Top 50 that have ND offers compares with only 19 total left in the Top 50 out of 36 total uncommitted offers in the Rivals 100. What ND is left looking at is a very elite group. Only 8 uncommitted recruits in the current Rivals Top 50 do not have an ND offer, and we expect that to shortly decrease to 7 when #29 Deion Walker receives his written offer.

Of the 14 remaining Rivals 100 uncommitted recruits that have ND offers, the Irish appear to be still on the radar of at least 6.

The best hopes remain Floyd & Trev.

Ryan Williams remains a definite possibility but he will have to get on campus and pull the trigger before C. Thomas who is not a Rivals 100 guy.

Patchan has become more & more of a long shot as he is rumored to be committing next month without ever visiting South Bend.

We are supposed to be in Sabino’s Top 3 but are trailing UNC, and despite Sabino’s comments to the effect that ND will hold an offer for him, if KLM shows up for his Official Visit on 9/22 and decides to commit, I believe Sabino will lose his spot.

ND is expected to make Baldwin’s Final 3, but Baldwin is adamant about waiting until NSD to decide.

ND is considered to have little or no shot for the other 8 uncommitted Rivals 100 recruits who have Irish offers, Aghayere, Beal, Arthur Brown, T.J. Bryant, Shayne Hale, The Thrill, Pryor & Darrell Scott.

I know that Crist moved up considerably, and performed well at the Elite 11. From everything I read about the Elite 11, Gabbert and Dayne put on a show, while Blaine is rated with 5*, how is EJ, who, by everything I read wasn't nearly as good as Dayne, still a 5*, and the best Dayne could do is still a 4*? I don't usually put much into the ratings, but it irks me that somebody who performs poorly at the premier camp in the country keeps his 5*, and someone who performs better, is still rated lower. I just don't understand how in the hell that happens.

----I too think they are pumping EJ Manuel too hard, but he did preform very well at the Elite 11 and also has awesome highlights on Rivals. Crist is very raw, and everybody is expecting him to be God but he has unlimited "potential". I saw a couple of his full games on TV a week ago and he's very good, but not polished yet. Jimmy was a different case as he was advanced, and polished at this stage. I do think Crist will get his 5th star after his Sr. year but lets not cry about Dayne being very highly rated just yet, it's August.

Not cryin', but from what I read, Dayne outperformed EJ, I just thought it odd, that he's a 5*, and Dayne is not. I know Dayne only played about half a season last year and has unlimited potential, I just don't understand how some of this crap works. I guess I just needed something to bitch about, the Cubs have pissed me off once again, and I have a tendancy to rant about stupid stuff.

Well, obviously Elite 11 isn't the only thing the ranking is based on. I think Manuel is ranked higher because they feel he has more potential as he has similar passing ability but is a better athlete. Plus Rivals seems to view him as their pet project since he blew up at their camp and they were the first ones to give him an elite ranking.

I hate to say it, but if Floyd hasn't figured out at this point where he wants to go, I don't feel all that confident that he'll end up in South Bend. Patchan probably has always been a longshot, I thought we had a good chance at Williams, but since he didn't make the Aug. trip with his mom, I'm not so sure on him. Sabino, who knows what's going on there. I heard that his OSU visit went really well and currently has stated that they'll get one of his officials, so I don't know how that one will play out. C. Thomas seems to have a lot of interest in us, but I haven't heard much about him. Kenny Page and Trevor Robinson are two guys that I would love to have in South Bend. Don't know if we'll end up with either one. I would like to have all of them, or at least most of them, I just don't think it will happen at this point. We'll see.
