That's what the eternal optimist in me thinks. He was on a 4 year contract at Georgia and since he only did two years, I'm sure there's some sort of buyout that ND would have to take care of with Georgia. The negative part of me says he's already passed on the job and ND is keeping it quiet until they think they have their guy.

Whatever happened to him? I think he went to Duke after ND, but where’d he go after that? I used to work with his son and he absolutely hated ND when his dad was still there and obviously even more so when he was fired.

Latina and I are from the same hometown, Mark Mangino too. He use to hook me and a few friends up with tix when he was at ND

If Football Scoop reports that it’s trending away or he isn’t coming, then I’ll give up hope.

I want to clarify that I don't think this automatically means this OL search is a bust or we're simply defaulting to Watt.

It sounded like ND had multiple top tier names they were targeting.

I'm not overly concerned about it. I think they'll land somebody with a high profile like a Callahan, Huff or Funk.

But I did really like the idea of Luke. Felt like he had a ton of credibility and likability to sell both on and off the field. But it doesn't sound like he's ready to return to coaching, especially if it means moving his family.
