New McCoy News

I know that I continue to grasp at straws but until McCoy comes out and says he has eliminated ND or Kates accepts a schollie from ND, I believe there is a good chance McCoy comes to ND. I have heard rumours of McCoy's girlfriend being pregnant as an reason for him selecting Oklahoma. If that was the case why did he omit only ND, why not omit USC and LSU as well? If he omitted ND for family reasons, why not omit everyone but the homestate team? If there is in fact one remaining schollie and we need a defensive lineman why isn't Kates Irish by now? I don't think that Charlie or John Latina would wait for 8 days after the date that they were rejected by their main guy to have a meeting to discuss where the last schollie was going. Things are just not adding up here. I believe that he will be an Irish surprise on Signing Day.

There might not be a plan B! It appears that they bet the farm on McCoy and they lost. This is especially true if the pulled the offer to Kates. which was reported on this site. It may be difficult to reinstate it.

I get the feeling that they had McCoy and for some reason lost him. Weeks ago other recruits were saying they were told by ND staff the class was filled. They must have thought that or they wouldn't have said it.

Regardless, this is a super class and with Young it will get a lot better. I think Weis is content to hold the last spot til next year.

Haha. Now, there is optimism for you. Maybe I can get McCoy to call you and tell you directly, he is choosing between LSU, OU, and USC. But then again, that probably wouldn't go anywhere in convince you...

i'm going to go out on a limb and say it's ALL rumor. i'm sure that the staff has recruited these kids with the knowledge that they have some versatility and may be used at a different position at the college level, but until they actually step on campus and put on the gold helmet, it's all speculation - even among the staff.

hey fellas I know its been a little slow lately and theres not much to talk about, but how about we quit repeating ourselves so much. I don't post much, but I read everything every day (while at work). Ive read the post about OL moving to DL about a million times. If they need to move they will, but everthing now is speculation. Lets put it to rest and move on. Weis has everything under control. If he felt we were really that bad off on the DL don't you think he would have got after it a little harder? Maybe, just maybe, charlie knows more than we do.

You may want to look up "libel". When you make a statement the burden of proof is on you not the one being smeared.

BTW, if ND was approached by anyone solicting payment for a recruit they are required to turn that information over to the NCAA. It's a recruiting violation NOT to report it.

So are you charging ND with a recruiting violation as well?

WTF? So, you've sat down and interviewed/talked to Mr & Mrs McCoy??? The family IS getting paid, in the form of a 4yr ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP, which if he stays healthy, excells on the field, will be a good down payment for a job in the NFL. If you meant it tongue in cheek, fine, but if you were being serious, take your tripe elsewhere.
