Terrible shooting night for The Irish. Turner was 7-12, Allen 6-9, and Huffman 2-2 for an aggregate 65.2%. The rest of the team shot 6 of 31 lead by the freshman Arike 0-7 and Marina 1-5.
Cable only shot 1-6 but pulled down 10 rebs.
Mich only shot 2-7 but both were 3 and she dished out 6 assists.
Turner had 6 blocks despite playing with 4 fouls but also made 6 turnovers.
Huffman got picked on down the stretch by GT as the designated foul shooter. She missed a pair on an intentional foul but made the other 4. Her 4-6 was the best ND shot from the line as the rest of the team was 6 for 18 from the stripe.
A bad night shooting for most of the ND players. Where Allen was scoring well on drives down the lane splitting defenders or drawing fouls, Arike also tried to split defenders but to no avail. She was aggressive but not productive. The high scoring ND bench only turned in a collective 12 points from 5 players.
ND did dominate points in the paint 34-16 and fast break points 15-2.

Pretty uncomfortable game to watch, and I bet it was worse for Muffet. We, however, showed that even with huge areas of screw-ups, we can still beat a decent opponent by double figures. Hannah went a long way to insert toughness into the team when we really needed it --- and she almost always does.
Maddy was uncharacteristically terrible on bad fouling plus a couple of other plays down the stretch, but Muffet stayed with her in the clutch --- why? Because on every defensive rebound she was battling her butt off from board to the floor, and had her hands on almost every ball. She is our warrior.
We were again exposed as to our physicality vs thug-like size players, especially when we can't keep Brianna out there. Reimer's absence is messing this team up physically. When we're down to Kate and Maddy, the third player MUST be Hannah --- she is a Maddy clone as to wade-in-there-and-play-bigger-than-you-are toughness.
I fear the game vs thugs when Brianna gets fouls early and there is enough opponent talent to harass our threes. Still, Muffet and her girls "find a way."
