Sorry, but coming here as a Spartan fan and defending the indefensible (with a nonsense explanation, no less) is pretty much "hating" on we Irish fans. The flag-planting was obviously classless garbage. If you can't admit that, there's really no hope for you.
Spartan Pride, I'd ask you to forgive Waldo's discourteous finger in your eye greeting but he's not an Irish fan, he's a Troll. Attack mode is his normal demeanor. He'll savage fans, players, coaches, reporters and now opposing fans. I'm surprised he didn't drop his racist tagline on you for the white flag incident.
If you want to talk football, welcome to the board. If you want to talk smack you're on the wrong board. That will get you on the Ignore List in a hurry. Waldo's has a commanding lead on that list.
I agree with your observation, ND has 3 challenging games to get through before East Lansing. When we do so, MSU is ripe as the trap game.
The '66 game was the rivalled as The Game of The Century only by the '46 ND/Army game with Davis, Blanchard, Lujack, and Hart. Four Heismans played that day. In both games both teams left the field battered and exhausted.
In the '66 game, ND lost RB Nick Eddy, the Darius Walker of the day, to an injury while travelling to the game. ND's AA center, George Goeddeke, the Ryan Harris of the '66 OLine went down in the first quarter in a battle with Bubba Smith. ND's Brady Quinn, QB Terry Hanratty also was knocked out of the game. His replacement Coley O'Brien who took insulin shots to control his diabetes played most of the game.
ND doesn't have the depth on this team to lose the likes of Quinn, Walker, and Harris and hold off what was the #2 team in the country.
