My prediction for the game:

Charlie leads the team out, the jerseys these men support shows their pride they are wearing the Notre Dame colors. Their helmets are shining and their shoes are tied as tight as they can get them. The defense hits hard and the offense shows finesse and determination. Regardless the outcome of the game, whatever the scoreboard shows, everyone of the players walk off the field with CW, proudly.

I had big and high expectation of Charlie.

While the record is disappointing, and the defense has been dreadful, this team always makes it a game. They've lost by 4, 7, 2, 5 and 3 points.

So I guess that means they're due for a 1 or 6 point loss. I'll pick 6.

My football senses tell me that this matchup is terrible for Notre Dame and they should lose by 14 points or more.

Were bad against the run and are one of the poorest tackling teams in football. Match that against Gerhart and ohhh boy.

I hope im wrong but I think were looking at 38-21 Stanford.

It is a bad matchup for us, but I do believe the guys will fight one last time for Chuck...it may not be enough for the win, (not ruling it out, bur Gerhart will be hard for us to stop) but it will be close again.......ND 27 Stan 21

I wonder though.....how Stanford handles being the heavy favorite? ND has owned them under Weis (sounds weird to say that) and now they arent hiding under a rock anymore.,..theyre expected to win this in a walk.

There is no reason Stanford can't score 65 on us. I don't think that happens. They were so jacked up for oregon and U$C b/c it's in their conference.

Everyone gets up for us. They'd love to be the nail in Charlie 's coffin. Our guys will be pumped to win the last game for the seniors since they screwed that up last week. I think the defense comes out with passion and fire but as soon As they bend they break and a early tied game goes to us down by 14 at the half. No magic in 4th. Stanford pulls away and takes it 38 - 24.

Those kids love Charlie... no matter what people have said about the way Charlie treated the alumns or locals... He always did what he could for his kids and they love him.

Stanford is a better team than the past 3 teams we've lost to. Gerhart is a better RB than the guys who ripped our butts the past 3 games. Therefore, the only way we win, is we put about 50 on the board. Oh, and to do that we have to overcome the whole "paralysis in the red zone" thing that seems to afflict us. And we won't have our #1 RB to help.

Hughes was also something like fifteen to twenty pounds lighter and Stanford sucked.
