Grant is just awful. His selfishness on the court is just like Carton Scott's.

The problem is that Brey has almost always had a "go to" guy and we don't have one this year... and Grant is forced into that role when really he should be a supplementary player.

Is this your first game?

First off, *Carlteon* Scott wasn't selfish. He played most of his minutes with Hansbrough. Ben easily let the team in shots taken.

Secondly, Jerian is the most athletic slasher we have on this team. He's our guy that creates shots. We need someone like that. He has had brilliant, clutch moments. Especially late last season.

Your opinion is flawed, across the board.

Lol on that block on Cooley... that's either a no call or a charge

Another good point, Scott was a solid all around player. I was disappointed when he decided not to return for fifth year.

Scary game, but a nice win.

These tight games are the kind that make you better, but dang, we should have won by double digits.

Keep on working Cam and Zach, this team will get better.

Yeah, that's the whole problem... he's the only guy who can both create his own shot AND score. The only guy. Atkins can create but isn't a great jump shooter and is only so-so at finishing around the rim... he's a true point guard. It's just a bummer because he gets flack for not being able to drop 20+ a game like Hansbrough but in actuality we should all be thankful that he carries so much of the burden on his shoulders because no one else can.

^This.

I've been aware of the situation, and that's why I value him so much. He'll continue to get better, while Cam slowly becomes more of a shot creator as well.

I'm honestly starting to believe that Cam B. is already approaching Grant in this regard.

Grant can get his own shot, yes. But I cringe everytime he takes a shot off the dribble. For example, today, Cam drives right, shoots a pull-up, fade-away off the right baseline. Scores.

Next possession, Grant goes down and does the EXACT same thing. Not close.

Problem Jerian has right now is that he's stuck in between being two different types of player. He can get his own shot, but he's struggles to make them when he has to create his own (I like him spotting up). He's great at getting to the rim, but when he gets there, he goes up like (and I hate using this word, but it's true) a wussy. He's always fading away from the rim instead of going up strong. I actually like Adkins more in this area, as he's shown he's "crafty" at getting the ball on the rim (he's so much better at that this year, with runners and quick releases).

Don't get me wrong. It's apparent the load he's asked to shoulder is weighing on him. I mean, he really has no business bringing the ball up the court. Next year, I would be shocked if we see him do it more than a handful of times if D.J. is ready to play.

We have a lot of one dimensional guys. Grant is the closest to probably being a "complete" player, but we really are asking him to do some stuff he obviously isn't comfortable doing.

That play where grant tried to imitate cam made me just so angry at grant for being selfish. He can create shots, but they just don't go in and often are just him falling backwards. Oh and he needs to be able to make a free throw for goodness sake

IF they somehow beat Syracuse, they'll be in second place in the Big East.

Marquette is losing to Louisville 38-24 at half. A Louisville win puts the Irish only a half-game back from the first place.

Yeah this is a HUGE game. In addition to the B.E. standings would be a resume builder win that would look nice come selection Sunday.

Jerian is gonna need a big game, surely the older brother will try to show the younger one what's up.

We also need some good play from Knight / Auguste.

I knew there was no way the Irish win tonight, but I was hoping they could entertain me for a couple hours. It looks like they weren't expecting a 2-3 zone.

6 turnovers in five minutes? I wish we had Grant's brother.

Wow horrendous start. Usually when its a bad outing its because we are not shooting well, but poor shooting and a ton of turnovers both to start this one.

The 2-3 is killing us. We can't get an outside look.

And as I typed that we just drained 2 three's...

It's apparent that Knight and Auguste are a step slower mentally than the pace of this game. That's to be expected with a career backup and a true freshman playing against one of the best programs in the country. But that's what I see.

How in the world was Triche adjudged to be in the act of shooting on that!?

Cooley is getting hacked to death in the paint. Got one call on it early, but nothing since Boeheim "reminded" the officials what was what. Grant and Atkins are getting straight bullied; absolutely no penetration.

Unbelievable with the turnovers.

Yeah with all the turnovers and sloppy play we're lucky to be in this one.

Offense looks terrible against the zone, just passing back and forth around the perimeter until someone forces a shot. Really need to get some penetration.

Grant's brother merked us. 5-6 from the floor, 10 points. Killer layup at the buzzer. Inexcusable defense on that play.

Need to get to the free-throw line. Only attempt was Cooley's miss on the front end of a 1-and-1. 'Cuse is 7-9 from the line -- the difference in the game.
