Clemson threw home to get the force out and attempted to throw to first for the double play but the throw hit the runner and bounced away allowing a run to score.

Just saw that former ND and LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri was fired from South Carolina over the weekend.

He had retired from LSU back in 2021 and coached for a season and a half at South Carolina

When I was watching the game vs. Louisville on TV, they were interviewing the Louisville coach who said vs. league games that you'd have to score a lot of runs to win games and he is right.

I was shocked to see ND lost to Michigan St. earlier in the week.

The bats have gone cold and it's become easy to score runs against ND.

When they were ranked 23 I thought this team was going to make a good run.

I think it was John Brice saying we could see some P4 programs drop sports like baseball down to a D3 level where zero scholarships for the sport would be given and kids would have to pay their own way or earn academic scholarships. He did note that kids who come from households making under a certain threshold would have tuition paid for with a deep discount for higher income thresholds. He didn’t say ND would do this but it’s something to look at in the future.

Brian O’Connor, yes. He’s now at Mississippi State after about a 20 year successful stint at UVA.
