Lost to BC in the ACC tourney 5-4.

Left at least 10 runners on base

I'm assuming that probably just cost us the postseason? Or just that just leave us squarely on the bubble? Definitely a disappointment.

Tough loss to BC, hopefully ND can sneak in the tournament.

With the late season spark hopefully this can help them recruit high school kids and pick up kids in the portal.

I am excited to see what Jayce Lee can do.

With their surge, that saved Stiffler, I say keep him for next season.

If they make the tournament, sure. If not, axe him. Coaching for your life and season against BC in the tournament…that was a must-win. And they didn’t.

Mac- you always have great feedback!

In my opinion the late season surge showed something; I think he deserves 1 more year to see he can continue to show something.

Agreed. IIRC, ND has only been to CWS four times in their entire existence. The BC loss was bad but it doesn’t erase the surge ND made coming down the stretch of the regular season. Stiffler could’ve easily lost the team. Hit the portal & fill in the needs while maintaining the returning players w/ NIL. I’m assuming Stiffler can’t hit the JuCo circuit like most D1 schools.

In football we talk about adjustments made between halves, the adjustment that Stiffler and the ND baseball program made brought positivity for the baseball program. I agree Stiffler could've easily lost the team and he didn't towards the end of the season. Fingers crossed they can make the tournament, but if not hopefully they can build off this surge from the end of this season into next season.

Mainieri really crumbled at LSU his final few years. I know he was really torn up over losing his father and maybe needed some time off, but I'm starting to believe, unfortunately, that the game has passed him.

I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times at different LSU events. For all intents and purposes, he seems like a tremendous guy.

Tinney is portaling.

Just pathetic that this program is a dumpster fire Bevacqua won’t address

well the AD last year basically said that they don't give a sh%t about the softball program by keeping a member of a bad coaching staff on and making her head coach instead of going out and hiring some young hot coach from a small program they just built up and it showed by the team having its worst season in several years

This makes zero sense for Bevacqua to do and a big red flag. He owes it as the AD to do better for all the sports, not just football.

Unless its one of those "extensions" that really isn't, with buyout numbers that do not add up to the amount he would make between now and 2030. Really doen't make sense to give a sweet new deal to someone who is underwhelming at best.

This is my hope…that the buyout is minimal. Their best player has already transferred. They’re clearly not going to be able to keep a good HC so who could they even attract right now? They’ll have to catch lightning in a bottle like they did w/ Murphy, Manieri & Link.

I like this extension and I don't like this extension. I felt like ND caught some lightning towards the end of last season, but I want to get back to the winning days like ND had with Link- does ND have the right coach to do that?

They lost Tinney and a bunch of other good players to the draft/portal. And they were a big part of the momentum at the end of the year.

Agree Saint, this is a big red flag/white flag for AD Pete. My over/under for next season is now 14, down from 17. The team will wallow in mediocrity for many years to come as recruiting lags, as facilities remain subpar and as players look to transfer after solid individual seasons. "No joy in Mudville."

I mean it’s not like ND was the northern super power everyone thinks they are. In a very competitive ACC I think they need to shoot for middle of the pack with the occasional regional+ appearance. scUM went to the CWS final a couple years ago and now aren’t very competitive in the B1G. Baseball is driven by the southern schools, no matter how much money you want to throw at it. Yes it’s sad but it’s the reality.

A kid that might fit this level of excitement that would have some connection would be Isaiah Snavely who is ranked as the top prospect in the State of Indiana in the 27 class. Played with Brandon Logan at Fort Wayne Snider. One of his IN Bulls teammate is already committed to ND.

Just pure speculation.

We beat Notre Dame in baseball the year before I got to Showgirls 3. Brad Lidge pitched that game. Kenny Fischer pitched for us.
