Game. ND by 4. Maryland played great basketball in the 2nd half, but ND held them off enough to pull out the win.

Been my second favorite ND team to follow for a long time. The girls are always talented and play so hard. I like this team a lot this year and think they have a chance to win it all. Now if we can just get Jack Nolan to switch with Bob Nagle and call the games for the women everything would be right with the ND Basketball world.

Loyd Leads #2 Notre Dame to Win Over #8/6 Maryland, 87-83 - UND.COM - University of Notre Dame Official Athletic Site

The Irish (19-0, 6-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) appeared on their way to another easy victory after building a 41-19 lead late in the first half. But Maryland (16-3, 4-2) stormed back behind senior star Alyssa Thomas to go up 64-63 with 10 minutes left.

Notre Dame answered with a 10-2 run and the Terrapins never got even after that.

Jewell Loyd scored a career-high 31 points, topping her previous best of 30 points set five weeks ago in a Dec. 22 win over Central Michigan at Purcell Pavilion ... Loyd is the first Fighting Irish player with multiple 30-point games in a single season since 1999-2000, when Ruth Riley did so against Liberty (32 on Dec. 5, 1999, at Wachovia Invitational in Richmond, Va.) and Miami (36 on Feb. 22, 2000, at Purcell Pavilion) ... Loyd's 31 points were the most by a Notre Dame player in a game in almost exactly one year, since Skylar Diggins had 33 points at Tennessee on Jan. 28, 2013 ... Loyd scored in double figures for the 24th consecutive game, tying current Fighting Irish associate coach Beth (Morgan) Cunningham for the third-longest streak of double-digit games in program history, as well as the longest since Natalie Novosel's 27-game run from March 8, 2011 to Jan. 21, 2012 ... Loyd had a career-high six assists, while tying her career best for field goals made and attempted

I will take it having everyone back and playing almost without missing a beat. I was rather nonplussed at Muffet's remarks. But I guess that is one of the differences between the soot to be most successful coach in women's basketball and a schmuck like me!

THAT is exactly the point I am trying to convey. Actually, I can't argue with her about anything. In fact, the truth be told, I cannot even speak in her presence. Every time I have tried, nothing comes out.

If two wins over top 10 teams doesn't make voters see how good we are then let's go into Cameron and kick the snot out of Duke!
