this sounds about right. they will appeal and get off easy because of some little errors in a report.

First of all, the writers got all of their info from a USC website. And those writers wrote their article in response to USC's response to the NCAA sanctions. Of course USC was going to go full force at the NCAA. So did Alabama. How'd that turn out for them?

Secondly, the NCAA is not a court of law, and they are not bound by the laws of the courts. They are a completely separate entity. USC signed on to be under the power of the NCAA...they didn't HAVE to join the NCAA, and if they don't like their rules they can leave. But USC signed on to the NCAA, and they are judge, jury, executioner AND appellate court. USC could get some of it reduced, but the odds are stacked against them.

I think what will happen is USC will appeal these sanctions, which will be heard in November. I HOPE the NCAA looks at this as an attempt for U$C to stay the sanctions so that they can get a full recruiting class this year as well as a bowl game (USC could accept this year's penalties while appealing, but hopefully they'll be stupid and they'll not accept the penalties and they'll go for the bowl game...thus delaying the penalties for another year and setting them back even further), and the NCAA rejects their appeal.

In the end, I think you'll see this in the real court of law, in which SC might have a case, or more specifically, Todd McNair. Remember, Rick Neuheisal and Jerry Tarkanian won millions from the NCAA.

But USC, hopefully they stay screwed...
