Ugh! Didn’t expect the Pacers to maintain a 20 point lead, but that was a choke job. In the fourth, They were playing not to lose. Turned down open shots and stopped attacking the basket when the Knicks cut it to single digits. Need to take game 4. If they don’t, the Knicks will have the momentum.

This ECF has been fun basketball to watch. Pacers have really good movement, spacing, passing and sets. One thing that irked me yesterday was their refusal to try tough shots at the rim. You’ve got the Knicks two stars sitting on 5 fouls and you drive and kick every time. Got to try and draw fouls to get them out of the game in my opinion.

Bulls did it against Orlando as well in game 2 of the ECF.

Lakers did it against the trailblazers in game 7 I believe in 2000 of WCF.

Honestly I think they’ve happened far more than we remember.
I'm talking about frequency though.

They've happened. I don't think they happened as much compared to the current game. Style of play and rule changes have helped in the last 25 years.

20+ point leads in the second half don't feel nearly as safe as they did in the 80s and 90s when most teams were running half court offenses and didn't have multiple shooters on the floor.

Blazers led the Lakers by 15 in the 4th quarter in 2000. Bulls were down at halftime in Game 2 of the 1996 ECF to the Magic also by 15.

Amazing stat line for Haliburton.

Nembhard has sucked the last two games.
Amazing game 32-15-12 with 0 turnovers. As big as Haliburton and Siakim were, I think Mathurin might be the unsung hero of this game. He brought energy and movement through the offense so it didn't get stagnant. He also flustered Brunson the short time he guarded him. Toppin is never going to have a huge game, but he has a knack for coming op with a big shot or play when it's needed.

The pacers front office and owners would be fools not to keep this core together, the fever and pacers are a cash cow for the Simon family right now. Plus they’re going to the finals.

I’ve been a fan my whole life and this team with its chemistry is giving me major Reggie era team vibes. Fun to root for

I think they will keep them together. Several of the players have already said they appreciated that Pritchard didn't make any changes after last years run. Herb Simon is 90. I'm guessing he would like to see a title before he passes. He has turned over pretty much everything (Pacers & Simon Property Group) to David. Not sure how big of a Pacer fan David is, but he was 23 when the Simons bought the Pacers so it should be in his blood.

The only change I would make is getting a big body to rebound. Should be able to find one without sacrificing anything.

OKC is going to be hard to handle regardless of if it's the Pacers or Knicks.

OKC was a punchline not long ago. They were hoarding draft picks like crazy for a while there. Saw multiple stars leave over the years.

Very young team and a very good one. They've captured the west. Four more wins to a title.

They were pretty good with Durant, Hardin and Westbrook.

Yes they were but that was a different time. Harden’s rookie year, OKC lost in the playoffs to the eventual champs, the Lakers. Next year, lost to eventual champs, Dallas. The third and final year of Harden in OKC, lost to prime Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. Harden wasn’t who he became then. It irritates me when people say that OKC couldn’t win with kd, Russ, and Harden, when they went against a prime Miami Heat team. Tough task to ask for, for any team during that time

*Saw kd leave. That’s different than players like Westbrook, Adams, PG, CP3, Ibaka to be traded for assets.

Leaving as in not on the team anymore, whatever the circumstances.

Sam Presti was stockpiling draft picks, beginning around the time of the Pandemic, and was a bit of a punchline for a while. I think some of us even joked about it in this thread.

I know the Harden trade was bad but overall Sam Presti is damn good. Took "the Process" model and made it work and quickly. Still wish they were in Seattle though.

Their fans seem creepy with their coordinated colored shirts. Something about that always reminds me of a cult or Penn State, which you could argue is one and the same. I like that ND fans show up with whatever the fuck we want to wear. It's called freedom, it's called Independence!

Yeah, still creepy. Looks like some video game/AI/cult stuff. Just can’t root for them. Plus they stole the Sonics and are led by a Canadian. The more I watch them the less likable they are. Go Pacers!

The Pacers played like crap. I didn’t think the officiating was very equitable, but the Knicks just outplayed Indy. Hali has to be better and more assertive on the offensive end. Gotta finish this off at home tomorrow.

Bulls fans rejected these practices in the 90s. I was at a playoff game in 1991 and we were told to be loud for when the NBC cameras went live. 18,000 people booed mercilessly.

I absolutely hate this practice. If I show up to my seat and a shirt, pom pom or any coordinated device is waiting for me my answer is no.

The two of you must really like how mediocre our Green Outs are since a lot of people still wear blue and white instead.

Agree with all of the above, wanted to add that last nights game reminded me of why the NBA is unwatchable during the regular season. The refs didn’t win the game for the Knicks but it was so poor that the game had no flow and the calls weren’t consistent for both teams. Hoping that the Pacers come to play in game 6!

I also seen Greg Doyle’s post game questions to Pascal and I can’t get over the fact of how big of a tool Doyle is. I understand being a reporter and asking tough questions but don’t be a tool and try to get a rise out of a player especially when you are a hometown reporter!

I’m of the mindset that it was better to get beat that way instead of dropping a tight game. Hopefully they are embarrassed enough from that to play like they did in game 4.

Both teams have to approach game 6 like its do or die. I get that they won games 1-2 in NY but Indy cant afford to go back to the Garden for game 7 having to win there 3 times. NY is fighting for their lives, and the Pacers need to match that in game 6.
