I also think Tatum and Brown are way better 2 way players. I was pretty shocked at how poor of a defender Luka is (he may be banged up) and I don’t think Kyrie is above average. They are the better shot creators and that looks good in a highlight clip.
For sure. The Celtics have like six guys who can hurt you at both ends of the court.

TBH, I don't know how good of a defender Luka is, even when healthy. Kyrie couldn't spell defense let alone know how to play it.

Congrats to the Celtics! Team has some likeable players and clearly the better team in a pretty dull Finals honestly. Very well coached and great defensively. Mazzulla is the absolute real deal. Now the sports world can really get ready for football that NBA is done for this year.

They were the favorites in September and they did the job. Now that they have this title, everyone can believe that Tatum and Brown together really does work.

Congrats to Brad Stevenson. The man knows how to coach, evaluate talent, draft, find the right coach and run a club.

Very impressed with Brown in this series. Played very well. Love Boston's half court offense and defense in this series. No other team came close to shutting down Dallas' offense as Boston did here in these playoffs. Defense wins championships reigned supreme here.

Boston was constructed to stop exactly what Dallas tries to do offensively.

As much as some found it all boring and stale, it really doesn't matter in the big picture of things. This Boston team won 64 regular season games and went 16-3 in the postseason. They're one of the better teams we've seen in NBA history.

Celtics were very efficient on both sides of the floor. Dallas still had a heckuva season and won't forget some of Luka's plays/mannerisms during these playoffs, but Celtics were the best team easily this year. Could be the start of more to come.

The Celtics core six players are all under contract for next season.

Tatum led the celtics in points, assists, and rebounds... did Brown get extra credit for having to guard Luka or something. Not sure why he got MVP.

The confetti from yesterday hasn't even been cleaned up yet. We've seen this story before.

Agree. NBA seems wide open these days. Celtics should be in the mix but wouldn’t consider them prohibitive favorites.
Of course anything can happen - and especially in the playoffs - but the Celtics won the East by 14 games this year and probably bring everyone back. Unless maybe the Knicks add a superstar, who's going to challenge them? Perhaps Milwaukee? But the Celtics would certainly be favored to make it back to the Finals.

Then there are for sure dangerous teams in the West - as a C's fan, Minnesota scared me more than Dallas TBH, and the Celtics do not have an obvious answer for Jokic - but they all have their flaws too.

What's interesting about the Celtics is their "best" player - be it Brown or Tatum - may not be the best player in a given series. He wasn't in the Finals. But the sum of their parts is a lot to contend with. They've got six excellent two-way players. My biggest worry as a Celtics fan would be facing an elite big man - Jokic, Giannis, Embiid if he's healthy - as Horford is 38, I don't know if you can rely on Porzingis and they don't have a lot of other size. That certainly keeps them from being "prohibitive" favorites. But looking at where things stand right now I'm not sure who else I'd pick either.

As built, I'd take them over the field to repeat.

Wolves need another year to gel... if they do. They could be also be the next Suns/Jazz/Magic

Heard a number of comments that they believe Reese is intentionally trying to hurt Clark. She already made a comment alluding to Clark being favored because she’s white.
Which comment was this?

Here was the "special whistle" comment:

"I think we went up really strong a lot of times and we didn't get a lot of calls," Reese said of herself and her teammates. "And going back and looking at the film, I've seen a lot of calls that weren't made. I guess some people got a special whistle."

Hired June 2, 2023.
Fired June 19, 2024

They hired Trajan Langdon as Basketball Ops and he comes in to fire the head coach who was there for one season under the most lucrative HC contract ever signed in the NBA.

Makes absolutely no sense, so whenever any of these assholes want taxpayer money to build a new stadium, the answer should be no every single time.

You sure did. I know there should have been some improvement over the course of the year, but you've got to give a coach at least two years minimum.

I think he took over a team that won 17 games the year before. They won 14 this year. They had the fifth overall pick last year and have the fifth overall pick again this year.

I understand the front office turnover is playing a major role in this, but someone probably needs to step in and tell Trajan Langdon that they've guaranteed a ton of money to this guy and maybe giving him another year to try and build something would be smarter than just Langdon having full autonomy to make a move like this. It just seems rash.

It's hard not to look at this and think it isn't completely stupid.
