Once upon a time a geek (Cackalacky?) started a thread here to honor Pi but I can't find it. I've spent almost as much time doing IE Searches today looking for that thread than it takes to read the first 100,000 digits of Pi.

When I first moved to Minneapolis in 1978 (or was it 1979?) there were a few pizzerias called "My ∏" [Sorry, I can't find a way to recreate the fancy, scripted version of Pi they used in their logo] that made pretty good pizza and served a healthy variety of beers.

It may have been that too few got the joke; I'm not sure. No matter – they went out of business a few years later.

In HS, I memorized 142 digits in a row and won a $35 pie. We were given the contest rules at 8th hour (~3pm), and the test was the following day at lunch.

I crushed the competition. By far my biggest achievement to date .
