This might be long. I know a lot of you might not care, but yesterday and today were probably the greatest 2 days of my life.
On friday I woke up early and we drove by my high school on the way to ND so I got a chance to see all those suckers who had to go to school instead of the most magical place on earth: South Bend, Indiana.
We got to ND, I took a tour of the architecture school, which was really cool. I could definitely see myself doing that. I know the workload will be ridiculous but I think I'm up to it. As long as I have 4 hours of free time on Saturday afternoons I'm good. Then I took a tour of the school in general and went to an Info session talking about applying and all that stuff. I really feel better about my chances getting into ND after this weekend. I hope I'm not just setting myself up for disappointment, but who cares?
Then we went to the rally. It started off awkwardly. The leprechaun is awful. He tried to get the crowd into it but he wasn't very good at it. He told us to "don't stop believin.'" and by that I mean, and I quote, he said "you gotta don't stop believin.'" At first it was funny because everyone thought he just mispoke. but he said it three more times. He butchered his speech. Then Ara Parseghian spoke, and that was unreal. And for good measure, Condoleza Rice spoke. Overall, not bad for having started so awkwardly.
Fast forward to the game--There is no place in the country better to see a football game. I've been to 6 games in my lifetime and even now I'm in awe when I walk into that stadium. We had great seats--10 rows back. TJ Jones' TD was right in front of us, which was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised with the crowd noise, because it got really loud at times, although it was embarrassingly quiet on some plays. At one point I was one of the only ones in our section standing and yelling on a key defensive 3rd down in the 2nd half, and that was something. Quick notes:
Manti Te'o is big. I saw him in the dining hall on Friday. Wow.
Aaron Lynch could beat an NFL offensive lineman. He was in the backfield all day long.
Blanton's INT was incredible.
On Rees' INT, Eifert was WIDE open and would've had a TD if Rees throws a touch pass over the middle of field.
My voice is still recovering.
Well, that was a long post.
