"Tony, I don't want to intrude, but you seem a little down."
"Well Captain, it's about my job.
"Ah"
"I'm having doubts about being a cop. It's not like how it is on TV. All I do all day is fill out forms and paperwork; that's all I do."
"It's a point well taken Tony, But you must understand that although it's not exciting, it's a very important part of our work."
"Ya, but in all my time as a cop, I've never had to chase a guy across a crowded city square. I've never hung on to that part of the helicopter, you know where it lands?"
"Yes, I know that part."
"I"ve never hung on to that part. I've never even commandeered a vehicle."
"Now that's sounds like a lot of fun.
"I know. And that's what's irritating. You're too nice."
"Too nice?"
"Yes, you're my captain for God's sake. You should constantly be on my case, like the captain in Starsky and Hutch. You know, where you come in and haul me into your office and ball me out because you're tired of defending my screwball antics to the commissioner. Why can't you do that?"
"Well, the truth is I don't report to a commissioner. I report to a committee, some of whom are appointed, some elected, and the rest co-opted on a bi-annual basis. A quorum so to speak"
"A quorum?"
"Captain, when I joined the police force I thought I'd be like Serpico, instead I'm like Fish from Barney Miller."
"Hey, somebody needs a hug!"

come on monkey boys, someone name that movie.

alright here's another. Only one of the greatest modern western movies i seen.
Charley: I'm not goin' to my maker without knowin' your given name. Mine ain't Waite; it's Postelwaite. Charles Travis Postelwaite. What's yours? Sure ain't Boss.
Charley: I mean it, Boss. I'm asking you straight up.
Boss: It's Bluebonnet.
Charley: Bluebonnet?
Boss: Bluebonnet, yeah.
Charley: No middle name?
Boss: No, just Bluebonnet Spearman. And don't you tell no one. I want to hear you swear an oath now, go on.

ding ding ding. winner.

I have been trying to rep you for a day, but I have to rep others for awhile. Anyone gutsy enough to sport a Bay City Rollers title has my respect (or pity, I am not sure which).

Do you have one of their scarves on now, too?

alright, since no one else wants to post another:

Abou: Are you a deserter?
Harry: Something like that. I was sent to fight and I ran away.
Abou: Why?
Harry: Why? I just... There are many reasons why. Mostly I was afraid.
Abou: [laughs] I found you halfdead crossing the desert alone. And you say you are afraid?
Harry: There's a different kind of fear. Why are you protecting me?
Abou: God put you in my way. I have no choice.
Harry: God? An Englishman... and a Christian? You must have done something terrible to offend him.

Hints: modern movie, post 2000. story is set in 1800's England. This scene does not take place in England.

further hints: the leading actor just died at a young age. in the movie, the main character's "friends" give him four things calling him a coward.

P.S. I highly recommend watching it if you can.

I still have this one unanswered from an earlier post.

Ha Ha, that is true, sorta.....

here's one for you guys.

The world will know that free men stood against a tyrant, that few stood against many, and that before this battle is over, even a god-king can bleed.

yes it's based on the battle of Thermopylae. Spartans and Athenians vs Persians.

It's very Graphic but I loved the movie.

Kingdom of Heaven was a good movie too.

I watched The 300 last weekend- very bloody but good. Those lines reminded me of some of the speeches given by William Wallace on Braveheart.

Yeah, my favorite lines in the movie are...

Daxos: We expected Sparta's contribution to at least match our own.
King Leonidas: Doesn't it?
[points to Arcadian soldier behind Daxos]
King Leonidas: You there, Arcadian! What is your profession?
Free Greek-Potter: I am a potter, sir.
King Leonidas: [points to another soldier] And you, what is your profession?
Free Greek-Sculptor: Sculptor, sir.
King Leonidas: Sculptor.
[turns to a third soldier]
King Leonidas: And you?
Free Greek-Blacksmith: Blacksmith.
King Leonidas: [behind him] SPARTANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?
Spartans: HA-OOH! HA-OOH! HA-OOH!
King Leonidas: [turning to Daxos] You see, old friend? I brought more soldiers than you did.

I laughed at that part. My other favorite part is when the Persians send their emmissary to the point where the small group of Spartans are working on the wall nest to the see in order to fummel them through the small gates of hell opening and finally the persian fuigures out that the 'Mortar" the Spartans are using with the rocks are the bodies of the persian scouts. And when the spartan scout cuts off the hand of the persian and he cries "My arm!" the spartan says something like "its not yours anymore"

I never understood 300... take one of the more interesting real life historical battles ever and completely destroy it with monsters and rock music.... horrible movie, they could have just used Heroditos' account of the battle all the way and had a great movie, but they decide instead to throw bits and pieces of Heroditos in there and make the core of the movie a fairy tale... absolutely hated it

That's hollywood for you. stinking artists.

I kept thinking, "This is Anceint Greece not Gondor!!! Since when are there trolls and giants in Ancinet Greece..." the movie also completely ingorned the other greek city states that fought and died with the Spartans, idk everyone has theirs opinons... mine on 300 is it was one fo the worst movies of the past ten years... I'd rather watch a Drew Barrymore flick
