both of these series are gonna be fun to watch. i'd like to see the rays and the dodgers make it to the world series, but boston and LA would be really interesting with manny coming back to town. the phillies beating the dodgers wouldn't be bad either because that means games won't start so late here on the east coast. i guess i'm saying that the world series will probably be good either way.

I didn't think that the Sox would beat the Angels. I don't think the Sox will beat the Rays.

The Dodgers are hot and I've never been able to get excited about the Phillies.

In what has to be the most painful prediction I can make: Dodgers vs. Rays.

how difficult is it to get one bunt down? stinking Angels. LOL

they had the momentum, they just didn't execute at the right time.

idk how i felt about that suicide squeeze. if they were gonna do anything like that, i think it should've been a safety squeeze. 80% of MLB players can't bunt for some reason.

that's especially true when you have a left hander up. it allows the catcher to see down the line if the runner is coming.

Aybar had 9 sacrifices, plus 9 bunt hits on the year. I was scared that he was going to call for it, but it wasn't an awful decision IMO. We couldn't hit with men in scoring position all series, what made us think that Aybar would be any different?

The problem was that the moment was bigger than Aybar, and he choked. He's a great bunter, and he whiffed. Normal circumstances, he at least fouls it off, but he didn't. Momentum gone, series over. Plain and simple.

I don't think it was all his fault. The situation called for a fastball right down the middle. The pitch was down and in- out of the strike zone. Aybar was forced to try and bunt a bad pitch. If it was a safety sqeeze, I believe he takes the pitch and has a 3-0 count.

I (respectfully) disagree. He's a professional athlete and the best bunter on the team. At worst you foul that ball off. It was down and in a bit, but still a buntable ball. Those of us who played baseball know that it is tough to hit a ball diving towards to you, but it wasn't like that pitch was diving at his knees so hard that it almost hit him. He just whiffed IMO. He needed to get some part of the ball, any part, and he failed...

It was a good pitch by Delcarmen, but I agree you've got to get the bat on the ball. It seemed like everyone knew it was coming, but they did it anyway.

So who goes to the Series? I gotta say Dodgers and (hopefully) Sox. What a drama parade that would be with Manny.
