So who wrote this garbage? "if you can argue that it was ever really successful." Has Twitter not been more popular than Facebook in the last 5-8 years at least? There may be more people on Facebook, I haven't seen the numbers, but there's a lot more content and engagement on Twitter I would think. Nobody goes on Facebook to see what a celebrity wrote there, Twitter has been the go to for consumption and discussion. Facebook is generally more utilized for family and friends, while Twitter is typically more far reaching. I know there's SnapChat/Instagram which are both also up there in popularity, but who would say Twitter hasn't been successful? Also, how has "deranged" Musk broken it? I see a lot of progressives since the buyout claim that Twitter was doomed, or it was dying, but it sure seems to run today the same as it ever has. If anything it runs better with the additions of Community Notes to combat misinformation.
Do tell.If you're influenced by Twitter posts or any other so called media "influencer" you have some serious issues.

How has it been crap? I've been using the app for just as long, I don't see any latency issues. Why isn't it as good as it was a few years ago? Is it because conservative voices aren't getting silenced as frequently?![]()

Ryan Broderick. Funny enough, its from his newsletter Garbage Day.
As a user for nearly ten years, my experience is that it is not being run today the same as it ever was. It hasn't been with bullet train speed, but the app is nowhere near as good as it was a few years ago even pre Musk. Post Musk it has generally been crap as far as I'm concerned, though I still use and mostly enjoy it for sports content.
I see where this is headed, so I'm just going to leave it at I have not enjoyed the app nearly as much for the purposes of following sports. The For You page is also complete dog shit and I ignore it like it's a troll. More outages, any dickhead Michigan fan gets a blue check mark because they're stupid enough to pay for it, and for someone who went out of my way to clear out news, politics, etc. it hasn't really done the trick. How has it been crap? It's okay. I don't care for the paid liberal propaganda accounts either, but they keep showing up in my feed because they get promoted. I'd block them, but they occasionally write some funny shit and I'd hate to miss it. I actually began using it as a method of outreach for work purposes. Eventually I used it for sports news and gossip only. It's probably just another thing I don't really need to be on as much if at all now.
That's just me.

I haven't worked for Twitter or Facebook, but in my previous and current jobs in the software field I've always had to agree to a no compete clause in my hiring that lasts x months/years. Meta could be in some legal trouble if they're found to be leveraging said assets and/or trade secrets from people that were let go from Twitter.
Insta seems hellbent on destroying itself trying to replicate Tik Tok. They removed the recent tab from all hashtag searches to try and force people off of posting regular posts and use reels. Completely killed all my interest in the platform. How are you ever supposed to build a following or find new creators if they're all completely buried under "top" posts?I've used Twitter for years. I did digital strategy for two campaign cycles for a PAC and was pretty good at advertising. Twitter has never been better. Facebook has never been worse, IMO. Threads is interesting. Instagram is niche.
Perhaps, but I'd be surprised if Twitter doesn't enforce a non-compete. There was an article posted just 8 days ago about the new CEO being constrained at Twitter due to a non-compete from her previous job at NBCUniversal. New York is another location that doesn't care for non-competes.California became the locus for tech in large part because they do not enforce non-compete clauses. It improves dynamism/reduces barrier to entry.

Jack literally created this lmao. Like everything with Elon, he bought it and changed the name.Community notes is amazing. This never would have been fact checked under Jack.

So wait, a liberal gave a completely dishonest account of what actually happened to spin the story so it fit the narrative? The Hell you say! I am just shocked.Community notes is amazing. This never would have been fact checked under Jack.

I forgot. Everything was applied equally under Jack, so nobody criticized Twitter's impartiality pre-Elon. The censorship of the right and rare fact-checking of the left had a ton to do with Elon wanting to purchase Twitter and prioritize free speech.Jack literally created this lmao. And right on queue, Toronto plays the “but”card rather than acknowledge the idiocy of Sisson’s post.So wait, a liberal gave a completely dishonest account of what actually happened to spin the story so it fit the narrative? The Hell you say! I am just shocked.
It could be that left-wing folks don’t get the community note because they think illegally pulling a child from the womb, killing it, and burning it is completely acceptable? I mean, they are fine keeping a delivered baby comfortable on the table and killing it, right? And right on queue, Toronto plays the “but”card rather than acknowledge the idiocy of that Sisson’s post.
Annnnnnnd you miss the point entirely lmao. And right on queue, Toronto plays the “but”card rather than acknowledge the idiocy of that Sisson’s post.
