-Keep Weis
-Fire Tenuta, his personality sucks as well
-Start Riddick
-Sit Parris, anyone of our players can catch a football and fall down everytime, without fumbling.
-sit Blanton, like hughes to slow for this game
-Run a speedy back during goal line, hughes takes two seconds for his first step
-Linebackers need to understand assignments better (fire tenuta)
-Beg Jimmy and Golden to stay, because without them next year will even be worse.

-We lost 3 recruits for this loss somewhere down the road or already committed.

Jimmy isn't returning next year. Why would he want to come back and lose to teams like Navy again? He's gone, I'm sure of it, would any of you that were in his shoes want to comeback and lose probably another 5 games next year? I don't think Jimmy wants to lose to Navy 3 times in his career. This game and probably 2 more defeats will send him to the NFL...

Thats why I said BEG him to come back. Watching this team next year will be, well lets just say ill be finding a job that allows me to make extra money on Saturdays. Leaving out Tate in the first half is unacceptable.

Actually I disagree & think its redemption for loses like this that will fuel his return but thats just my opinion.

Im pretty sure you can make the exact same argument for him staying because i think he would want to be remembered at notre dame for something, so him leaving now would mean he lost to navy twice and never beat sc, so next year would be his only chance, if he wins a bcs or even an nc or a hiesman than losing to navy twice eally doesn't matter[/I]

Love this! Theo off tackle runs close to the goal line! Not sure about loosing 3 recruits.

yep, tenuta's defense is pure garbage. if not for athletic talent in manti and others, this game would've been a blowout. no adjustments (that i noticed) and the preparation, if any, wasn't there. i'm done with him, he needs to be fired.

Agree completely. He's coming back as long as Weis is.

Or he puts 2 and 2 together and realizes this isn't going anywhere and before he has a career ender he better chase the dough.

Definitely don't renew Tenuta's contract.

We have to keep Weis, it will set this team back horribly if he is fired.

He needs at least one more year, if we don't WIN a BCS bowl then he should be fired.

We are getting to the point where we are reloading, not rebuilding. Look at guys like Riddick!! Not a hyped recruit, but tell me that Weis is figuring out that you need fast shifty guys to win at the college level. It took awhile for him to make that adjustment, but he has I think.

Next, he needs to realize he has to start calling better plays in the Redzone.

Maybe that would be a good thing, considering Jimmy has to shoulder significant blame for this loss:

Clausen was the one who got sacked in the end zone, providing the winning margin for Navy.

Clausen was the one who fumbled at the Navy goal line, wasting a scoring opportunity.

Clausen is a stud. This loss is not all on his shoulders, and he has provided many more great moments, than he has, downer moments. But the fumble was a REALLY poor decision. I can understand the safety. It was 4th and 20, and he was trying to get loose to make a play. But the fumble came on 1st down. I can appreciate that he was trying to make a play, but he should have just played it safe. Either try to get to the pylon, or go down and live to play another down. It was a rare bad decision on his part, but it was still a bad decision.

Clausen got sacked on his blind side in the end zone. Can't blame him for that one, he didn't even see it coming.

So we can blame the Head Coach for lousy defense, because that is part of his job, but we can't blame the QB for not feeling the pressure, when that is part of his job?

And........if he didn't know it was coming, why was he running away from it?

From what I saw, he wasn't running away from it, but running that way to throw to a receiver. If I remember correctly he was getting pressured from right in front of him too, had to go somewhere. Right handed QB's tend to run right when they have to run, easier to throw that way.

You can blame Clausen all you want, I blame the O Line for all of a sudden losing focus or whatever you want to call it.

We don't have a head coach. We have an offensive co-ordinator and a defensive staff. Because you see a head coach at some point, say 4 or 5 games in, would have said to the defense "Its time to try something else fellas".

The problem is everyone was too busy patting themselves on the back for a job well done against WSU.

*chuckles* Yes, that is why there are so many threads on here about how much the front 7 had improved.........because we have been doing the same thing, since game one.

I blame the whole freaking team:

1. It starts with Weis! The redzone production was pathetic. What happened to out rushing Navy, that was BS. I understand we have Tate, Floyd, Rudolph but its not like our ground game isn't up to par. Our offensive lineman out weight the Navy DL by over 50 llbs or something. We only rushed for 60 yds. I thought we had balanced offense, but I guess not. In order to be a BCS team you need to run the ball and control the game. The running game also helps in the redzone!

2. I also blame Tenuta, I thought he said he's seen all the options ever invented. Navy runs the ball 99% of the time, literally. We should have had 7 to 8 guys in the box on every play and sometimes maybe 9. Our CB are way better than their WR's, So why not force them to pass? Force them to paly a game that they are not use too.

Some interesting thoughts:

Why the hell the does Paris have his helmet ripped off every game? Either get a hair cut or get a better fitted helmet.

After the game Tate made an interesting comment.... He basically said the team wasn't as energetic and intense. Why? Your playing college football at ND!

I'm going to say this again. Did Weis fumble the football one the one? Did he miss two field goals? Did he throw a pick? No. The plays were there. They were not executed. God, next I expect to see him split out the way you are blaming him for what happened.

If we have Nine in the box, how do we defend the slant? How do we defend the sweep?

Well, option teams rarely run outside of the tackles, ya know? :krazy:

...agree, and at least one o-lineman (didn't catch the number) got absolutely blown up, bitch-slapped,bull rushed...how in the hell can that happen when you outweigh the guy by 30 pounds or so...guy just chucked him out of the way and blasted Jimmy from the backside...O-line failed to produce in the RedZone, and failed to protect Jimmy when it mattered...

And Yes, Jimmy had an un-Jimmy-like day...but Come on, it wasn't horrific...OUR D SUCKS...our kicker was shankopotumous today...not sure who was at fault on the floyd-in-the-back pass...Robby P got the dropsies...Oline gqt the yips on one redzone series, and gave us 2 offsides penalties...the fumble was on Jimmy...should have ducked out or slid. Like I said before the Washington State game, we are one Jimmy off day from Disaster... I hope that is out of his system. Sucks to be Jimmy though...one mediocre day at the office, and the company goes bankrupt...sheesh

Why would JC or Tate come back...I don't even want to go back and I have great season tickets and a motor home parked within 50 yards of the Legends.

I didn't say that. What I said was this team is not going anywhere. And in year 6 where we all expected ND to be contending for a NC, they'll be contending for the Gator or Cotton Bowl, again. Oh wait, no they won't since that affiliation dies this year.

After next year its pretty much BCS or bust.

I'm not so sure that Tenuta's scheme was at fault. It seems to me that the scheme was pretty good. Here's my reasoning:

For the first time in as long as I can remember, our MLB led the team in tackles. Now, we all love Brian Smith's motor, his tenaciousness, and his attitude. But Brian Smith ain't exactly Jack Lambert, ya know? In any defense that I am aware of, the purpose of your scheme is to give your linebackers the space to make plays. That appears to have happened, in yesterday's game. I think the scheme was there, but maybe we just had guys who were out of position too often, or missed assignments? I mean, if Michael Floyd can think that we are running a screen (and go downfield and block) and have the ball doink him right in the back............ I'll wait to hear what Charlie has to say, today, after the coaches break down the film.
