Any word on LB coach candidates?

Seeing Andy Buh, Laurinaitis, Ronnie Regula and Greer Martini as the most common names.

Irish Illustrated mentioned Nick Lezynski. Would be a demotion as he is Vandy’s Run game Coordinator/Co-DC so he probably would need a good deal, but the guys mentioned that he would go to great lengths to coach at ND again.

II mentioned today they are leaning towards looking at the NFL to fill the role, but the names in focus have college experience

Tem Lukabu in Jacksonville jumps out instantly

No crossover with Ash but could be familiar. No crossover with Washington at BC but could be familiar. Believe he’s been tossed around before

Chris Partridge from Ole Miss/Michigan is in Seattle right now. Kinda was the fall guy for the Stallions scandal.

More likely than the above two is some rising quality control assistant or some vet stuck in an analyst type role like Ash was

He was a DC at Boston College for three years. Going back to college from the NFL to be an LB coach? Seems like a step back. If that's what he wants, so be it, but that doesn't seem right whatsoever.

It would be a steal for the program to get him as an LB coach.

Not gonna pretend to evaluate his current tenure but he’s been a LBs coach in the NFL for 4 years in two stints, could see a return to college at a place like ND as quicker path back to a higher role. Basically a lock get promoted within 2 years.

But like I said probably a quality control/analyst not a LBs coach.

Dude, they bring him in as an LB coach when his name was being mentioned a year ago for DC jobs, it's a fucking steal. I'll die on that hill. He's a good coach.

I never said anyone said anything. What's your problem? Hiring this guy as an LB coach would be a great hire. That's all I'm saying.

What about Sean Duggan? Besides sounding like a good Irish Catholic lad, he has extensive experience with Al Washington, worked his way up to Co-DC at BC, and is now the LB coach with the Packers.

Hasn’t recognized his name off hand but that’s a good one too. OSU GA year and St. X in Cincinnati alum

He and Washington overlapped

12-14 Duggan as player and Washington as coach at BC
15 Duggan as GA and Washington as coach at BC
19 Duggan as GA and Washington as coach at Ohio State

It’s probably Mike Moon. 4 years primarily assisting with LBs here and now with the Bengals with Al Golden.
Fits the mold Dale described earlier. Younger cat who has been assisting the assistant.

Seems like a fit.

Duggan would be a good hire as well.
