Jealous of the Angels? Why because you've had what five or six years of success in your franchise's history? You guys have one Championship, one hall of famer, and im jealous? When you have something for me to be jealous of, i'll be the first to let u know.

How long did it take the Dodgers to get their first world championship? 44 years. It took the Angels 41 years. After 100 years of Angels baseball, if the Dodgers still have more rings, then you can talk to me about more rings. I've been alive more plenty of Angel heartbreaks, and 1 title (I was at Game 7, a present from my brother for being a lifelong loyal fan). Depending on your age, you've also been alive for 1 title '(88), maybe 2 ('81). Seriously, your first 45 years weren't that much greater than ours.

As far as jealousy, before Torre, when you guys went through horrible manager after horrible manager, the Dodger fans were PLENTY jealous of us having their boy, their hero, Mike Scoscia (sp, I know) as our manager, after your brilliant 'sheriff' let him go.

Not looking to start a war here, because like I said, I do like the Dodgers, but, well, there's ways to twist the numbers any way we like...

ACAMP finally says the main point. Our Angels have way sexier fans hahaha. To be perfectly honest, most Angels fans have no animosity towards the Dodgers because we are in two different leagues. Even when we play in the Freeway series, it isn't something where we feel like we are battling for LA. We actually hate Oakland, the Yanks, and now because those jerkoffs have knocked us out of the playoffs the last three years, the Sox!

Also, Jason, you have to admit that our stadium is much better because our beer is much cheaper and you don't have to worry about being stabbed by the many two-time offenders who attend Dodger games. Burn! hahaha

I am growing very tired of many people acting as they had no idea that PEDs were widespread in sports. I am in my 40s and I never did them but I know for a fact many many did. The majority of the superstars in all sports probably have skeletons in their closet somewhere. I do feel that PEDs need to be out of sports. If you get caught now you deserve to pay the price but for ESPN and other sports analysts who act as if it is a surprise,, shame on them. Are they blind?
I would not be surpised to hear that most of the greatest players in any sport in the last twenty years had used enhancers. I am talking about some of the greatest players ever. You telling me that the greatest of all time in the last twenty years were great because of hard work and genetics? Please!

Get it out of sports, everyone knows the last twenty to thirty years have been chemically enhanced, get over it. Quit acting like you had no idea.

Dodger Statdium has better food and history on it's side for sure... but local is HORRIBLE... Much easier to get on and off the freeway in Anaheim than those one lane roads converted to a four lane freeway near Dodger Statdium...

and I agree with Golden... the 40 dollar all you get eat tix are a great idea but unless you are in a sky box you feel very unsafe in Dodger st. at times... other than when the Red Sox are in town I have never been able to say that about teh big A...

either way there are pluses and negatives to both parks... hell they are two of the four oldest parks now off the top of my head correct??? But as a life long Halo fan I HATED the dodgers growing up... so I can see how having the cross town team in the mix every year while your team is stuck in mediocrity can enbitter a fan so don't feel too bad...................................

Dude Jason, you sound just like all my Dodger loving friends friends who are EXTREMELY jealous of my Angels.

I'm not that big of a baseball fan, but I do know this to be absolutely true. There is not a Dodgerfan alive that is jealous of the Angels. Dont kid yourself. Thats as silly as saying Yankee-fans are jealous of the Mets. The Doyers have history, been in and one multiple World Series over many generations in a family. The angles been around since 1967. Outside of their WS win, their bigest claim to fame was having Nolan Ryan as their pitcher. The only reason the angels won the world series is because Dusty Baker took out Russ Ortiz in the 7th inning, with a 5-0 lead. The giants bullpen couldn't bring it home, the Giants were 8 outs away from the title.

Dude the only reason the Dodgers won THIER last WS is because the other teams closer hung a slider and took all the fight out of his own team... serious cop-out there... just about every title is a "yeah but"... it's still a damn title...

and I hear you on the history... the BROOKLYN Dodgers have one of the best histories in all of sports and they brought it with them to LA and have built on it some... but seriously, if you say some Dodgers fans aren't a certain "green" emotion over what has happened since the Autry family was bought out you are pretty blind or not paying attention... it's not ALL prob. not even the majority... but yeah, it's real

Maybe orange county doyer fans.....and they're the same ppl that were LA Rams fans. Fair weather fans (literally, haha). The same ones that leave in the 7th inning of a baseball game, or at the beginning of the 4th qtr of a football game. Good riddance to those fans, let them sway with the wind.

Angels really have nothing as a franchise, outside of their 1 World Series win. How many HOF's do they have? Rod Carew? I mean, how many HOF's wore an Angel uniform with their HOF induction? there is no comparison between franchises. You can make the argument that Angels should have won more WS than only one; they have had one of the best teams, if the not the best team for most of the 2000's. And, they have had the Yankees number for at least 8 years now.

The only thing that the Angels have over the Doyers, is in the 'What-have-you-done-for-me-lately' category. Any Doyer fan that is swayed by that, was never really a Doyer fan to begin with. (Angel Stadium does have better food, even better than the much-hyped Doyer-Dog, I'll giv'em that)

To me, the ultimate Doyer fan is Tomas Lagorda. Tommy loves the Dodgers. Would Tommy jump ship, to the Angels no less, just because the Doyers are down? They got Vin Scully for pete's sake!!

Vin F'n Scully!! The last great broadcaster left! (R.I.P Chick Hearn)

I grew up a Raiders/Lakers/Dodger fan, although Baseball isnt my sport. I kinda like the Angels only because my father used to get tickets to Angel Stadium - 2nd row behind 1st base(way back in the Wally Joyner days). I prolly been to 40 Angels games in my life, my favorite moment was watching Bo Jackson(KC Royals) hit a line drive HR off of the right field fascade (before stadium renovation) that echo'ed throught the whole stadium. It seemed like the HR was never more than 6feet off the ground, line-drive shot. When it hit the fascade, it was a very loud BANG! Also, later in that game, while calmly walking back to the Royals bench after a called 3rd strike, Bo Jackson broke a bat like it was a toothpick. Bo Jackson was a Beast!!

I saw the same, but he was an Angel against Balitmore in like 94ish... he hit the big facade in right field and just dented the damn thing... winning the game (in the 8th not the 9th) no less...

but you do have something wrong with you if you think the halos have better food... our food is HORRIBLE now, Dodger food hasn't changed in 20 plus years at least... growing up? it was no contest... angel food in a land slide... but since Disney bought them the product on the field has gone up while the food has hit the shiter... I mean cold cups of cheese for your nacos?? wienerschnitzel hot dogs?? and frozen kroger brand hambergers?? that's just bad... at least the blue crew have the dodger dog

anyway, if you want to bend logic to say only a small portion of Dodger fans (hell you said those who don't leave in the 7th inning which just about eliminates 95% of Dodger fans right there/and angel fans for that matter) are real fans and those are not angered, bitter or jealous of anything going on up the freeway then okay... I'll give you that...lol

Everything(food) just seemed better at the Big A. The all beef hotdogs at the Big A were almost as good the LA Coliseum hotdogs, and waaayyyy better than Dodger Dogs. (I never liked the dog hanging out of the bun; still dont, heh). Also, I guess they are in every stadium now, but back then Angel stadium was the only place i'd been to that had the sundae's in the little baseball helmets! those were truly the best. for a second there, I wish I was back in 1989

please you know what sits on top of my cpu??? a "Heavenly Halo" that's the noise maker they gave fans back in.... 1985!!! I can drop photo evidence to this if needed...

and yeah I realize the moment in regards to 88... but he brought up one moment in game six of a seven game series... my point is ANY series has THAT MOMENT... The yanks wouldn't have swept the Padres in 98 if not for that horrible fourth strike given to Tino... the Royals would not have beaten the Cards if not for Dekinger in game six...

so... if it comes down to one moment who cares if it is in game 1 or game 7 or somewhere in between... and again... Dodger fans are great... they sell out despite years of average play... but give me a break if "Angel fans didn't exist before 01"...

I'll straight say it... fuck anyone who really feels that way...

I have been a diehard

1.) ND fan since 89 despite ever enjoying a title as a true fan
2.) Pens fans since 94 despite never enjoying a title as a true fan
3.) Browns fan since 86 despite never enjoying a title as a true fan

AND

4.) Angels fan since BIRTH...... yet my ONE title I have enjoyed makes me a bandwagon fan???

yeah that's a big F off to anyone who stands by that... hell I'm a taurus... I'm a loyal to a fault guy by nature... and I have seen THOUSANDS of others like me at Angel St. over the years

also, someone earlier made a great point... people bring up history??????? kind of a weak point since the Angels have only existed 40 plus years and the Dodgers first 40 years were so bad its historically epic....

Damn Angel inferiority complex. They wish they were in LA, They wish they had History, they wish they had our broadcaster, they wish they had our players. Matterof fact isn't every team required to retire Jackie Robinson's number. Who did he play for again?

agree... but it is most noticable in the nachos now... in Gene;s day for three bucks you could get a PLATER of nachos with as much cheese and as many jalapenos and you wanted NO CHARGE... all three of which (chips, cheese and peps) were great quality

now that chips are four months on the burner kind of stale, the cheese is cold and comes in a cup (they couldn't give you extra if they wanted to, it's one cup per serving park wide) and jalapenos recently have been an extra charge and they give you maybe five... (although this was different last year they finally went back to the buckets on the side, which of course are almost always empty... but I haven't been to the big a yet this year)

okay now I'm bitter baseball guy

Oh yeah who did your manger play for? Who taught him how to manage? The only reason you guys got him is cause we were owned by the Fox Corp. and everyone knows a corporate owner is death to a franchise.

Im goin for the jugular

You missed.

I forgot Angel fans have only existed since 2001 so the rules might still be new to you.

Wow, who has the inferiority complex? Us Angel fans are pretty much laughing at you as you as you try and bag on us, while we simply state the facts. I for one haven't been dissing the Dodgers, only responding to your insults. I don't wish I had anything of the Dodgers, because they're not my team, so I could care less.

If you don't care about us, THEN WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO BAG ON US??? If we're your little brother, then why get all bothered by us when we point out your faults. You probably consider us the Clippers to your Lakers. Except, would a Laker really get bothered by a Clipper fan talking crap? Of course not. But yet obviously the Angels are doing something right to get you all pissed.

It's like I tell people when I play ball who start talking shit to me, "I must be good because you're talking to me." If I was a scrub he wouldn't bother. Figure it out.

As for your Angel fans comment, I echo ACamp. I guarantee you I know more about the Angels than you do about the Dodgers, or at least just as much. Fan since birth. No bandwagon here. Been through all the heartbreaks. '79, '82, '86, etc. Still here, always will be. How hard is it to be a Dodger fan? Not hard really, according to you anyways.

I'm still waiting to hear your response to my history lesson. You like to bring up history to benefit yourself, but I talked about how we got a ring in less years than you, you're a mute. And that was like 20 posts ago. What say you?

Anyways, I come here to talk ND football. You're an ND fan, so I don't want to get all venemous with you over baseball...

I ain't mad, you guys are just sayin i am to help your argument. I will tell you what annoys me about the angels is that they claim to rep LA. The angels have always been an afterthought to me, they ain't in the same league, and up until interleague we only played in preseaon. But then they changed to that whole Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem crap. They dont play in Los Angeles city, or Los Angeles County. As for the history lesson, I haven't been on this planet long enough to have seen the Dodgers or Irish win a chamionship so i gotta learn my history. Like i said the only reason the Dodgers had become so bad was because the O'Malleys sold the team to Fox. the last couple years they have made some smart decisions and have gone back to playing Dodger baseball wich is pitching, defense and aggressive play on the base paths.

I am going to settle this on behalf of all the Angels fans on this board, so basically just me, ACAMP, and NDinLA. Most Angels fans hate that we are now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I mean the darn thing went to court twice with thousands of people protesting. Our owner, Arte Moreno, realized he could get more ad revenue (hence more money for the team) if he tapped into the LA market. That is the entire reason why we share the same name. And if you want to solely represent LA, be my guest. If memory serves me correctly, we can claim to represent the entire state since we were originally the California Angels.

And maybe the only HOFs we currently have are Rod Carew and Nolan Ryan. But we also had one of the most beloved players to have ever graced a baseball diamond, Jim Abbott.. And over the past 15 years or so, I definitely think we will have more future HOFs than your boys. Vladimir Guerrero, Francisco Rodriguez, Bartolo Colon, and possibly John Lackey will all be in the HOF one day.

And here is what really kills Dodger fans, we do more with less. Our payroll has always been substantially less than yours, and I can't recall a recent free agent acquisition that was a complete bust. The Dodgers on the other hand seem to be the team that ruins careers. Andruw Jones, Jason Schmidt, Shawn Green, Kevin Brown, all players who received incredible contracts and literally did nothing for the organization. It is only in the last few years that we have paid for big FAs such as Guerrero, Torii Hunter, or Bobby Abreu(actually we got him pretty cheaply). It is through our farm system and the incredible coaching of Scioscia and the rest of the staff that we have developed such quality players as Chone Figgins, Howie Kendrick, Bengie Molina, Jose Molina, Garrett Anderson, Casey Kotchman, Adam Kennedy, Jarrod Washburn, Troy Percival, David Eckstein, Darin Erstad, and Troy Glaus. We also seem to be far more loyal and have kept these players through the prime of their careers. The Dodgers traded away Mike Piazza, Paul Lo Duca, Adrien Beltre, and Cesar Izturis when they were still incredibly productive. And all of those players wanted to stay Dodgers.

So you can continue to mention history, most of which is in Brooklyn, and more titles and the LA market all you want. The reality is that as of today, the Angels organization is more successful because they build teams on character and work ethic. And when you think about it, that's the same attributes ND bases its teams on, and this is an ND messageboard so ...

nope... we were... get ready for this.... the Los Angeles Angels.... right from the start... the ONLY team in history that can say they repped LA from the beginning... that's what is silly about Dodger fans throwing that in our face... they switched to "Cali" after they moved from Wrigley to the big A... but again, DOZENS of teams have repped cities they do not officially reside in... for some reason this point only gets thrown in the Angel fan bases face...

and Colon and Lackey are never going to even see a HOF ballet... but Torii Hunter is a first ballet no doubter that no one ever wants to talk about... he MAY be the best defensive outfielder EVER... and yeah I am not forgetting "The Kid" or Al Kaline or the OBVIOUS title holder to greatest ever in that regard Mr. Mayes...

the fact is Torii has been so good over the years he has absolutely made it a discussion... my fav. Angel since TIm Salmon no doubt.... TOTAL class...

aside from that... good post... the failure of many signings during the DePodesta era was just unreal

Vladimir: First Ballot
K-Rod: Maybe but still too early and hes a closer, makes it tougher
Colon: Thats a definite no
Lackey: Doubt it, but he has to have a Maddux/ Glavine type consistancy to his career

Andruw: Lazy ass that why the Braves nixed him
Schmidt: ughhhh that one sucked
Shawn Green: He hit the Dodgers single season HR record what are you talkin about?
Brown: blame Rupert Murdoch

Piazza: Still breaks my heart
Beltre: One and done free agent
Lo Duca: Roids
Izturaz: Great fielder, couldnt hit

The Dodgers have begun to develop players again under the new management like Martin who's a stud. Ethier has been on fire all year, Kemp who has huge upside, and don't forget Billingsley and Kershaw who have all the talent in the world, and play in a pitchers ballpark.

Oh and The Brooklyn Dodgers were the lovable loser, it was'nt till the 50's that they began winning with Duke, Jackie, Pee Wee, and Camp. all of their accomplishments came in LA. They only won one Championship in Brooklyn
