I thought Aldridge looked pretty good in the third quarter. He looks quicker than Hughes but stronger than Allen.
RJ Blanton has been really impressive. His interception showed he's not afraid of the big stage. He's also shown excellent run support and had one terrific stop on the outside on Stafon Johnson. (He also had a play in the Navy game where he blew up a lead block and made the TFL) He didn't surrender any big plays, with the exception being the underthrown fade to Damian Williams on 3rd-11 in the first quarter, but Blanton was with him stride for stride and the timing just happened to be perfect.
Ian Williams made a tackle on the sideline about 12 or so yards upfield. That was cool to see.
I anticipate Clausen having more weapons next year. Hopefully Walker and Goodman will see the field and give teams more to think about than Tate and Floyd. Plus, don't forget the possible impacts of Shaq Evans and Cierre Wood. Shaq looks like he'll be an excellent route runner, and Wood looks like Joe McKnight, in that you want to get him his touches however you can. He could be awesome coming out of the backfield.
There's probably some negatives one could drag into the things I just mentioned, but I'm trying to add a different flavor to the board here since everyone is calling for Charlie's head.
