I'm very happy to land Gordon, but that 40 time of 4.75 scares me. The coaches must of really liked this guy though.........

Wow, 4.75? Wonder if that is correct or not.

That's very slow for a defensive back. Hopefully he hits like a truck if he has speed like that.

Thank you!

I guessing (hoping) he's a hitter, nasty. Scout did have a story on him some months back entitled, "The Hitman".

At 5-10 to 5-11 depending on the source, 188 - 195, 4.75 to 4.83 (listed/combine 40), he's not a CB (rivals) nor a FS. He is a jumper with a 34" vertical.

His offers including UK VU LOU PSU WVU Duke are not overwhelming.

The coaches had to see something that doesn't show up in the written listings.

Maybe the coaching staff can see him turning into a LB in college?

Sure, Dat Nguyen was a LB in college and now in the NFL at that size. There have been a ton of LBs at that size. While the average LB height is probably 6'1" to 6'3", if you can hit, I'm sure you can play there.

I just can't see this guy being in the secondary being nearly a half second slow on most capable wideouts.

He sounds like a perfect candidate for the Apache spot.

I completely agree...apparently this kid hits like a freight train and I love those types of players...nasty.

Did we see much of that TE from MSU after that hit ndukwe put on him in the end zone. How about Hart after he got leveled by MC? Guys that hit like that can sometimes take away an option of the opposing offense.

Gordon sounds like the kind of guy ND looks for:

"We got a chance to go into the locker room and that was pretty much when I saw those coaches and those players, how much they cared about each other," Gordon said. "I saw them picking each other up. I saw some coaches shedding a few tears. It was a family atmosphere that reminded me of high school."

Before leaving the Irish locker room, Gordon, a 5-11, 195-pound safety from Fort Campbell, Ky., verbally committed to Notre Dame.

"Throughout the day I could see myself really being there and being part of the football team," Gordon said. "After the game it was like a feeling just came over me like it was God telling me this is the place He wanted me to be. I'm really happy about it."

How does this affect the decision of guys like Sergio Brown who from what I hear, we are recruiting pretty hard?

Brown thought about committing himself Saturday, too. He's going to take his other visits.

They had 3 safeties in town, but I'm guessing Gordon will be an Apache guy and Brown and Gaines will be safeties. Both sound very interested and I'm guessing they could end up with all three.

Hey, all of these guys sound good to me. From what my brother was saying, this kid Gordon hits like a sledge hammer and the same can be said of Gaines and Brown. If that's the case, it could make for some fun football to watch in the next couple of years!

Gordon and Gaines hit VERY hard.

Word on Brown is that he is fast and athletic. I haven't seen him play live and I don't think I'll be venturing into Maywood unless I get some riot gear.

Proviso East is known for their basketball teams. Brown is a big fish in a small pond over there. For him to go to ND would be a huge boost for their school.

Maywood a pretty rough neighborhood, is it? Used to play in some sketchy areas in Cleveland back in the day. Police escorts to and fro these games.

Who are the Irish battling for Gaines' services? This is the kid that i want to see play. I heard that this kid leaves it all on the field. No let up. Real animal. NASTY!!!!

Not sure on Gaines. His sister is an ND basketball player. James Aldridge said he talked to him Saturday and seems to think that ND is in the lead, from what Gaines says anyway.

There are certain areas I won't scout in. I have to wait for teams to play a road game in a good area. Proviso East plays most of their home games on Saturdays during the day time, but I can't make for obvious reasons.

WHY NOT???? LMAO. Thanks for the info. Sometimes you read about these kids on the different sites, but you just don't know until you are able to see them with your own eyes. Must be cool to be able to do that. I live in Oil (Shitty) City PA now, but living in Cleveland for 28 years, I got to see some good football. My brother caught the St Ignatius game and got to see Parris and Ryan play. Said that Ryan is a beast and that he plowed a bunch of people and said that Parris was only thrown to a couple of times from what he saw. Good hands, but needs to work on his feet. Wait til the college coaches get a hold of these two.

Seeing Demetrius Jones in the opener really helped me gage just how good he is. Even with the loss and bad team performance, you can see the kid is going to be good. I can't wait for Rueben Mendoza to beef him up and for Weis and Vaas to teach him the knowledge. Jones is capable of leaving his mark on ND.
