Kentucky Derby predictions?

Or am I the only nerd who's into horse racing? My money just went on Twice the Appeal a horse ridden by jockey Calvin Borel. He's always on longshot horses and manages to win.

I wanted to go this year, but that goofy Princess Beatrice wore the hat I had picked out for the derby to the royal wedding. Bish.

I like Pants on Fire and Mucho Macho Man which would a be a great story if Mucho won because the trainer had a heart transplant. Pants on Fire is riden by a female and I hear she is a nasty rider and doesnt play any games.

Ill prob got with a Mucho Macho Man, Pants on Fire , Uncle Mo Trifecta boxed and then add an undecided 4th for the superfecta. And Ill prob take Much Macho Man straight.

Borel is just an amazing rider so he is always a good bet. My only concern with Twice the Appeal is being in this large of a field, it might be tough to get to the outside and find some room. However, if anyone can do it, Borel can.

I also like Victor Espinoza on Midnight Interlude. Bob Baffert horse. I talked to Victor down at Del Mar this past summer and he said he was going to win the Derby this year. Seriously. No lie.

I haven't decided my betting yet, but I am going to look at the full day of racing tomorrow night and see what I am feeling.

Borel is the man, and I just love his interviews afterward. Victor Espinoza is good too and he can read a horse. I went against Borel last year and did a crazy bet on Stately Victor and Sidney's Candy. I don't bet much I'm not a gutsy gambler but I didn't pick wisely last year. I let my kids tell me which horses they liked. haha

I guess I'll be choosing a different favorite to add to my trifecta with Uncle Mo being scratched. Maybe ill add Twice the Appeal since NDOM likes it....But I like that inside reporting on Midnight Interlude as well...

I have class tomorrow and hope its only until about 2 though so I can to the Philly Turf Club to get my picks in.

I was there for the hundreth running in '74, hanging out with a bunch of my hippie domer friends in the infield. Drinkin' beer and Mint Juleps all the while enjoying a bit of that ol' Kentucky blue grass.

My winning bet on the derby race brought me up to even for the day. Met some fine Lexington Ladies and ... oh, never mind.

Well then dshans, you'll be happy to know there will be a "Domer Bombing" of the infield tomorrow at Churchill Downs. Unfortunately they no longer allow alcohol in the infield. Nothing a little Notre Dame ingenuity won't solve.

Somebody let me know who wins. I likely won't have any idea.

Actually forgot to give you credit that you liked him as well. Ok so:

Mucho Macho Man, Twice the Appeal, Pants on Fire Trifecta, 2nd bet: Box the same, 3rd bet: Some sort of superfecta that Im undecided on. 4th: Im taking Mucho Macho Man to Win.

Whats annoying is some beat horse is going to finish 3rd with like 50-1 odds and screw everything up. I guess Ill add a long shot to the Twice the Appeal and Mucho Macho Man and then Box that.

Freakin talked myself out of betting Animal Kingdom I had him a few exotics but didn't have any thing boxed with him. Kicking myself because the horses I eliminated from betting were all right. I was all over the top 4 and didn't make a penny. Crock.
