i think the fords need a home run hire here and thats not gonna be cbk. The talent on the lions roster and current buyout of js you do not replace with an untested college coach.

Me? I watched on TV. Had the volume low because my one week old slept through most of it. Also had my crazy 21 month old running all over the place throughout.
Was hard to pay attention to everything that was said, especially with Palmer not pausing for 2 seconds to take a breath.

Coach Kelly, please-please-please go to the NFL. I love what you have done for ND. I love the guys you have brought in. But, I am sick of the NFL talk after the 3rd and 4th years. This hurts recruiting, and overall tone of the team. I am glad you are successful. But, really sick of the tone it sets after every season. And what you did last year and then leave the country put back to back bad things for ND (Blowout loss to Alabama, and the next day visits the Eagles).

So, please go so we can move on. At least that will ensure (most likely) 2-3 years of no NFL talk. Right now it is every year with you.

Yeah, because ND has such a great track record for getting top coaches.

So just because Kelly is a good coach gives him the right to dangle his dck in the faces of the board every year and interview for the NFL? Gimme me a break.

I haven't seen anything definative that says he's interviewing for the Lions. I've just heard rumors. Is there something I'm missing?

There are more rumors on this board about it then in the media to this point that I've seen. Than again, thats just how we roll

NFL is in a transition period. College offenses are much more advanced. College players are ready when they arrive much more often than 5 years ago (especially qbs ).

Now that college coaches are capable of coaching an nfl team, many are being head hunted every year. This isn't a Kelly issue, it is a out with old in with the new issue the nfl is going to.

I could be wrong but I don't see him leaving for 3-5 years.

ND in LA, I understand that. But, I want a guy who wants to be here and not always looking for the next step.

I think there is plenty of good coaches out there, just got to pick correctly We are 1-3 in the last 3. and 2 for our last 5 (Not including O'Leary.

up until now they only thing that was said that im aware of was palmer said during the game it was a possibility he could again see interest from the NFL mainly speaking the lions. I do not have premium accounts but follow irish illustrated on twitter who is usually right on top of things like this and not a peep. fwiw

If this were happening, there would be multiple reports from major media outlets. No offense, but Jimmymac isn't a major media source.

Jesus I never said I was a source. I quoted an individual and posted the information here, then explained what I thought was going on. I never claimed to have inside info or any info other than what I've read with regards to this case.... Geez

I don't think Detroit would set up with an interview without actually firing their coach first. I call B.S. on this rumor.

For further proof, ESPN was all over O'Brien interviewing with Houston literally two seconds after he agreed to meet with them. Not a word anywhere about Kelly and this supposed interview.

I don't see him getting a NFL job at this time. Maybe in the future but to me, there is too much in game confusion and play calling hang ups. That's coaching and doesn't bode well in the NFL.

With the success Kelly has had, its not always him looking for the next step, but the next step looking for him. That will never end as long as he's successful here. I want him to continue to be successful here.

Palmer says about a dozen stupid things every broadcast I've ever seen him on. I think he looks on message boards to find out his "inside scoops" about things. He is a complete dumbass. I seriously doubt that Kelly is intervieiwing with the Lions or any NFL franchise. But, if he is, I agree with all those who say he should be let go.
