Yep, John Clayton on ESPN post LSU/Clemson said BK was his dark horse candidate to flip to the NFL as a few teams will come calling. I need a new TV. Something is wrong with the screen now. All these cracks in the screen. Not sure what happened. Lost my beer too.

Hearing the Bears are interested in Lane Kiffin too.

Seems like people just like to throw names around when jobs open up. Kelly is not going anywhere.

Sounds like him trying to pull names out of his a$$ to get views and hope that one of them sticks.

I really trust Swarbrick. I think he would have had the "this is NOT a stepping stone job" discussion with Kelly before hiring him. Not concerned at all, Kelly isn't going anywhere.

Stop the nonsense. Brian Kelly isn't going to the nfl. It's not all about money with him. He will be a legend at nd.

Sign Kelly to a 10 yr contract immediately.

And make it one he won't want to leave. They won't make any contract talks a week out from the game, but they need to directly after. Depending on how the game goes I say make him the highest paid coach in football, college or NFL.

I realize there's a lot of money in the nfl, but why does one assume every coach in college wants to automatically coach there. Being a winning coach at ND trumps any NFL job a thousand times over. Step off the ledge folks or jump right into the abyss if you so choose. Kelly isn't leaving.

This was not the thread I was looking forward to reading first on New Years Day. Pray it is only the networks throwing up speculation.

The networks have nothing else to talk about right now. Why not attempt to stir up ND controversy ahead of the national championship game? Sounds like the perfect plan to me.

I realize that big-time coaches are highly competitive people and the NFL is the biggest stage there is to compete on. But, yes.
Kelly has zero NFL experience ever in his entire life. What he does have is 25 years of developing raw 19 year olds into smart, tough 22 year olds. He's not a "scheme" guy. He doesn't appear to be a big fan of all the baggage that comes with an NFL locker room. I can't believe the money would be an issue. And he's already got one of the best jobs in all of football. Plus, nearly every coach in the NFL looks miserable all the time.
The only reason I can see him leaving is if they win Monday and he decides there's nowhere to go but down. But even "down" at Notre Dame is nothing compared to being the head coach of the Browns or the Chiefs or the Bills.

I'd love to see Kiffin go to Philly.

That's the way to endear yourself to Eagles fans! The fan backlash from a hriing of Kiffin would dominate sports talk radio every day. Dont know that they could handle something like that after such a disappointing season.
