Newly-offered CB in for Notre Dame Junior Day

Notre Dame is high on a class of 2019 cornerback and getting him on campus early this spring has been a priority.

That effort is paying off.

Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal three-star cornerback Salim Turner-Muhammad tells Irish Illustrated and 247Sports that he’ll be at Notre Dame’s Junior Day on March 3.

The 6-0, 170-pounder was recently offered on Jan 25 and quickly set the visit to South Bend.

In addition to Notre Dame, Turner-Muhammad holds offers from Duke, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia, Wake Forest and others. This is a big trip for the Fighting Irish staff, as they look to land two standouts from the Episcopal secondary in Turner-Muhammad and four-star safety Litchfield Ajavon.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Turner-Muhammad is the No. 35 cornerback nationally and No. 9 prospect in Virginia from the class of 2019.

Nice prospect. With Wallace already in at CB, I'm interested to see where they go recruiting the position. I like that we are getting a prospect like Salim on campus early.

Kind of hoping a few local prospects surprise us and show up for JD2 because it doesn’t seem like a major turn out like JD1. Right now I don’t see any of the prospects listed as visitors as commit possibilities this weekend. Now if Mazi Smith, Rodas Johnson, and maybe some guys like that showed up I could see it being different. Also it seems like almost every weekend in April will have a pretty darn good visitor list with the talk of many guys visiting already during that month.

Visiting this weekend for junior day. Offer him so he can be on the field at the same time as NaNa and we can watch Dan Hicks try to pronounce their names.

So, Cade Stover was planning on coming but can't as his Basketball team advanced and plays this weekend.

I'm not going to get my hopes up, but he seemingly has legit interest in ND at this time.

Yeah, his recent comments are quite different from the beginning. Like he is buying in more and more.

Yep, and this may turn out to be like Justin Hilliard but you keep swinging until they say no.

As long as ND finishes 2nd for ND level/fit recruits in Ohio they are doing their job. ND's job is to be the other school in Ohio... sorta like Pork's the other white meat. They do that and they'll land enough to make it worth their while.

But when it comes to the Catholic football factories in Cincy, Cleveland, Toledo and even Columbus, they need to walk in the door and claim that turf then go toe to toe with Urban on the Kraemer's, Eichenberg's and Paris Johnson's of every cycle.
