Several websites and reputable news sources are reporting that van der Sloot's wife is claiming her husband was stabbed, while prison officials are denying it happened. No way to know for sure yet, but it's not like many of us will lose any sleep over this guy getting stabbed, prison raped, or anything else.

Joran van der Sloot reportedly stabbed in prison | AL.com

Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch national suspected of involvement in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway from Aruba, was stabbed in prison by fellow inmates and received severe wounds, according to his attorney and his wife.

Van der Sloot, who is in prison for the 2010 murder of Stephany Flores in Peru, was stabbed by fellow prisoners in the shoulder and waist, his wife told the Dutch TV program RTL Boulevard. He received "wounds that are definitely two inches deep," according to his attorney, Máximo Altez. The comments from Altez and van der Sloot's wife, Leidy Figueroa, were reported in RTL Boulevard and USA Today.

Figueroa discovered van der Sloot's wounds when she visited him over the weekend, she told RTL Boulevard. He had not been helped, and he was transferred to the infirmary only after she begged for help.

She reportedly smuggled van der Sloot's bloody polo out of the prison as evidence of the stabbing.

Van der Sloot is serving a 28-year sentence.

The bigger question her is, "How does he get to wear a polo instead of prison garb?"

Hopefully he does the right thing eventually and let's the parent's of N. Holloway finally get some peace. I would be shocked if he ever makes it out of that prison alive.

Funny, but I had exactly the same thought when I read the article. The prison he's in is supposedly very rough by US standards and I doubt they issue prison garb.

He's a classic sociopath. There's no guilty conscience or sense of right & wrong in him. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hard to believe it's been 9 years since she disappeared.

It's hard to have any sympathy for this guy. What goes around comes around.
