I would like to file a restraining order against johnnyhealz!


He is obsessed with my name Irish 666, and has decided to wage a crusade against me, he has sent me a plethra of unwarranted negative responses to my posts, and has made numerous threats to my existence on this free website. And why because of my name, can anybody really believe that?
6 QUICK THINGS:

1. I have never talked about anything besides football, until this name crap, and then only in defense.

2. I have never said anything to johnnyheals, until he insulted me, and then only in defense, then I moved on.

3. I love Notre Dame, my Grandma lived blocks from the stadium, as a toddler, I can remember hearing the roar of the crowd, and I can remember watching my Grandma dancing in the kitchen after ND won the tittle in 1988, I though this site was for people like me?

4. Is this facebook? Is this a social standing website? I dont care who you are, your name, sex, ethnic background, species, it doesnt matter to me, I am hear to talk ND athletics, that is it.

5. I have never had a challenge to my strength, based on whether or not I would meet johhnyheals, in the Halo battlefield. I bet you checked numerous times to see if " I accepted your challenge" But na, I was in the 2nd Ranger Battalion, I did my fighting in reality.

6. In closing, please johhnyheals do not kick me off your website, my name, is not that big of a deal. I am sorry that I chose 666, come to Utah and I will show you, I am not the "Beast". or "Satan", or even the "Anti-Christ"! And please no more personal messages or negative response crap, I dont want to fight you, to talk about ND, thats is just crazy talk.

It's a great board for info, but not worth getting harassed. Hang tight till NSD then leave and come back closer to the springs game with a different user name. I have seen multiple people get run out of this forum, some I agreed with and some that made ND haters look like they know what they are talking about. Either way, not the end of the world....GO IRISH!

After going through other similar posts, I foresee I will be banned, but it is worth speaking out against johnnykills stalking me, he just barely got another member banned, and I will be next. He is the problem, if he doesnt like another post/poster name he wages holy war against that poster, and then thinks hes special cause they get banned. This all started because of my name, not something I said, remember that.

Unfortunately, Irish666, some people who hold no power over anyone in the real world seek power in other places. Seems to me that you have become the target of one of those people. Honestly, if you care you actually enjoy this forum for what it's intended, I would just ignore this individual and continue perusing and posting and the like. At this point, considering this thread is dedicated to the person in question, all you're doing is provoking. Let it go. Enjoy the forum for its original purpose(s). If he is truly out of line, I'm sure it will be handled accordingly.

This is a ticklish thing for me to comment upon, since your choice of nicknames is your own business, but you have asked us about your situation so I'll toss in my two cents. Please do not take this any more personally than it is meant, which is not personal at all.

First, let me say that I'll buy your explanation for why you picked the number in the first place, but you must have recognized that some people would have seen the "other" connotation of it, and it would disturb them at least mildly. Neither you nor I really want to simply irritate other folks on this board so I assume that you didn't think about it long enough.

Secondly, I'll also buy that you are a good guy at heart [or I wouldn't be bothering with this response]. Let me give you a little background as to why some folks get nervous when the 666 number comes up. You may know all of this, but I'll bet not all. The number comes from the Book of Revelations as we all know. It is presented there as the Mark of The Beast which is usually interpreted as Satan. History scholars say it really means Nero, but even if so, he was interpreted as a falsely declared god and the Tool of Satan. As the Revelation unfolds, the Beast/Satan gets pictured as The Great Red Dragon. This dragon is placed in opposition to The Woman Clothed in the Sun---the metaphor for Our Lady. The Dragon therefore is the ultra-enemy of Our Lady [as far as the Apocalypse is concerned]. You are probably seeing now some of the under-pinnings of some people's unease with the 666.

666 has had a very poor history in western society which people draw on at least in dim if not specific memory. At the turn of the previous century, in England, there formed a society of "magicians" pursuing, allegedly, the Black Arts. called The Golden Dawn. Their leader, Aleister Crowley, named himself with the mark of the beast, and took on 666 as his number. One might refer to them as Satanists or merely out-of-control ego-maniacs, but neither way was it viewed as harmonious with any form of spiritual love-oriented teaching. Later in the twentieth century, people like Anton LeVay, with his Church of Satan, and Charles Manson, used 666.

Things like that, and much more such as certain skin-head groups, can be trotted out. It is this mass of. perhaps overly emotion-rich, symbolic use of the number that grinds some folks' spirits. Some people, to whom certain things have great importance, might well take such an intrusion into certain environments [like things associated with Our Lady] as a direct insult or flaunt. I assume that Johnny, one of the most fired-up dudes I know, feels that way.

That's the history/sociology/psychology as I read it. You of course must choose for yourself whether you want to do anything about it. I personally don't overly care whether you change or not---frankly I think the nickname is a little stupid given the historical context, but what-the-he-l? As to your "fight" with Johnny : you two are two high-testosterone dudes [as are most on this board, which could really use a civilizing female touch regularly], and neither will back off---which you could have softened up long ago---and so escalated this to where it is. If you want to be an unharassed poster, I can't see Johnny relenting, as, whether you see it as justified or not, this thing is obviously important to him. And, just to reiterate: Johnny's not alone in at least wondering why someone would choose that nickname for an ND-related site.

Ball in your court. If I met you, I'm sure I'd like you. Community is, however, the continual sacrifice and compromise of personal desires to the larger context. Peace.

Nice post Old Man Mike, I had dropped this whole thing, and was going to change my name out of respect, but when the personal attacks started, I have become defensive, and now, I refuse to. It is a fine line between making a point on a web site, and to attack someone on a personal level. I explained why 666 was used, I have used those numbers in alot of diffrent contexts, (What if Sports, I am cra666). I guess I am oblivous to how 3 numbers, used out of religous context, could make a religous person insult and make personal attacks.
