I have only heard how this kid is the greatest Quarterback in High School Football today, and how of course he is coming to South Bend, but does anyone know anything else about him? I am very excited for this kids arrival heard some good things. Another question comes to mind, will Coach Weis start this kid as a Freshman or will he give him a year or two to learn the system? Someone this highly recruited you would think would start atleast 3 years. also, any other big name top recruits out there coming to South Bend?

First: check the recruiting forum. There's a lot of great info there. Give yourself some time and read up on the commited prospects. I think you'll be impressed.

As to starting Clausen, who knows what will happen? Four highly rated QB prospects will compete for the job. May the best man win. JC's impressive and may be that man. But Charlie isn't going to give anybody the job. It will have to be earned.

Many, such as I, think JC starts as a freshman. But, there are others who feel D. Jones will start as he has had a year in the system. It's a wondeful problem for a progam to have, however; I feel one of the highly rated recruits (probably Frazier) will eventually transfer to get playing time. They can't all play.

I wouldn't be surprised if Weis redshirted him the first year. We have too big a number of quarterbacks with experience. Sharpley is just a sophmore and he was a 4 star out of high school.

You make an excellent point, X. I do believe that Clausen will be redshirted even though he is the highly-praised "Golden Boy." Who knows, though? Since he is enrolling early that could end up helping him play next year. I'm not too impressed with Sharpley, though. I'd rather have Demetrius play if Clausen was unable to.

What have you seen that would give you any chance to be impressed with Sharpley?

All four will compete in the spring and the summer. May the best man win. It will be the first true "earned" QB spot at ND in years.

I'm not saying guys like Quinn didn't earn their spot, but the competition wasn't much to be desired.

Sharpley hasn't been given the opportunity to impress. Who knows what any QB is capable of unless you let him throw a pass in a game.

I don't think Charlie will redshirt clausen, but if he does that gives D Jones the nod in my opinion, but on the other hand I haven't seen any of the three play. Sharpley can hand the ball off pretty good, that is about the extent of my knowlege other than what they did in high school.

D Jones at QB next year and then at WR the year after that catching balls from Clausen.

Weis will play whoever plays the best during Spring & Summer. Period. If Clausen is even the#2 guy, CW probably won't redshirt him just in case the #1 guy doesn't work out.

Is Jones a mobile QB, meaning is he more of a Vince Young type QB or a pocket passer? I don't see CW using that type of QB in his pro-style offensive system. But obviously, I really have no idea what CW plans to do.
